Must haves.....

Post by smudge » Tue Mar 03, 2015 8:20 pm

I know this is totally subjective, but on a FL C7, what would peeps say are the must haves? Just out of curiosity.....

Dynamic Pack seems to be mentioned a lot also. Does it change the cars handling that much?

It includes DRC which is slightly stiffer, wallows less in the corners.

Panoramic roof
Advanced Key
Audi Connect
Sports Exhaust
Surround Cams

Nice to have:
B&O
Ceramics

Personally I prefer air suspension for an everyday car. The car is comfier than my RR Sport in comfort and is excellent in dynamic.
2014 Audi RS6 4.0TFSi - Red/Sports Exhaust/21's
2004 Brabus SL K8 - Weistec Supercharger - 744bhp/753lbs Torque
2014 LR Defender XS
2014 RR Sport TDV6 HSE Dynamic
2003 Audi A8 4.2 LPG

Few others kicking around.

You'd be mental to spend 6k on B&O. It's better, yes, but it's all relative and a car is utterly pony as an acoustic object.

For me the must have was a 4.0TT V8 with 560hp!! Other than that I dont think that an RS6 wants for much. There are a lot of gimmicky options that I certainly would never of used so didn't spec them. But as many people say, even Audi, each person is different and therefore there is enough choice to express each persons individuality.

I would tend to agree. The B&O on my B8 is at best average. I'd also avoid Advanced key due to the thefts in London with anything that is keyless.

But thats just a personal perspective. Having lived my life being able to lock & unlock, start & switch off the engine, I don't really see much of a need for it.

Just placed my order for a second c7, this one a facelifted one! :biggrin3:

The ceramic brakes are nice, but the steel ones are actually really good also. Hard to be getting any money back spending it on either the B&o or the ramics.

However, i think the car needs sportsauspuff and keyless, with auto boot. Not so nice to hear it makes it easier to steal though...

My concerns over the harshness of the ride with dynamic have been put to bed.

I'd only ever tested a car with air and 20" rims. The ride was very comfortable indeed. However the 21" on dynamic is only marginal less so. I too have a range rover sport, and in comfort my car with dynamic and 21" is still more comfortable over speed bumps etc.

HUD

I know it looks a bit ugly on the dash and it isn't as good as the BMW one but it isn't bad and I miss it! Still can't get used to looking down at the speedo again.

My picks are after sampling quite a few of the options are;

Sports exhaust - hopefully with better quality tips
HUD - one of those things you would miss once you had it
Parking pack advanced - mainly for the top view which is the must have
Pan roof - I like the extra light and apparently helps retain some value according to the dealer
21" wheels and some sort of styling pack - just finishes the look for me.
DRC/Dynamic Pack - not as harsh as the RS4 in terms of ride quality as you can easily drive in dynamic

Options I've had but can do without;

Power closed doors
Advanced key
Lane assist
ACC
Side assist
Load fixing kit

Hope that helps :beerchug:
