B&O Subwoofer

B&O Subwoofer

Finally picked up the RS4 yesterday :D I have B&O as an option. In the sound setting its says B&O settings bass treble and balance but I don't see any option to change the subwoofer level.

Am I missing something?

Think B&O in any avant means no sub!

Sure there is but depending on the audio set up there either is adjustment for subwoofer level or there isn't.
I had it in combination with ASS and MMI 3G.

subs in the boot where the spare would be,but i cant remember if you can adjust the settings (look in the manual)

I don't think it has active control. it's just through the bass and treble levels

Not that I need it for absolute radio 80's :)

It's odd as in the SQ5 you can adjust it through the MMI but not in the RS. He to say that the sound is better in the SQ, but that may have more to do with the acoustics of the cabin than anything else. Overall though, the RS has a better soundtrack!

SQ5 sub in is the wheel well i know this doesn't help

I stand corrected! :)

As for why it can't be controlled, I'm sure there is a simple logical reason behind it. But seeing as the Q5 is older than the RS4, you would think someone would have made sure the specs were as good as they could be. :roll:

Does the SQ5 in question have HDD Navigation?

If not then I think you can adjust the sub.

If either car does have the HDD Nav then the B&O is upgraded to having 5.1 surround, and at this point I think the DSP does most of the adjustment leaving only the normal bass and treble able to be personalised.

my wife's SQ5 has HHD nav but never looked at the settings for bass etc so i'm not really helping here

Well my wife's SQ5 does have HDD, with a sub in the wheel well and settings on the MMI. My conclusion was the the B&O in the RS4 doesn't have a sub.

The amp is behind the left hand panel in the boot. The sub is in the plastic enclosure in the spare wheel well.
