Well after toying with the idea of an rs4 or rs6, I have put down a deposit on an rs3.

The early pictures haven't impressed many, but I think that's a lot of tech for 40k.

Will be fun finding the sweet spot of the spec. Tempted by nardo but I'm not sure that will age well. Daytona may be the one for me.

Basingstoke also quoting 02 March for the order book to open.

Whats minimum spec going to be in your opinion? Super Sports Seats, 'extended mono pur interior finish' leather arm rests and gearshift surround, HD Nav Touch, B&O..... plus your paint colour?

S3 has heated seats already so they will almost certainly be standard (although strangely Super Sports aren't / weren't heated as standard on the RS4?)

It's a tough one. It will only really make sense for me if the options are kept to a minimum - under 45k all in. It's not a 50k car for me.

Wheels, paint, black styling, nav.

According to a pdf I have from the dealer the car comes with "RS Sports Seats in fine Nappa Leather" and a "Leather & Alcantara sports steering wheel". However, some ambiguity there as to whether they are standard or optional. They look good enough to do without the super sports seats.

I'll probably change my config hundreds of times.

The dates I have are:

Open for ordering next week
Customer production starts w/c 22 may
'Market Intro''? - 08th June (presumably first deliveries.

Cheers Dribbler. Can't tell if I like them or not. It first I thought they looked like stock B8 S4 seats but they are better than that. Just not quite as good as Super Sport seats I don't think.

Those seats look awful!
Are the buckets not going to even be an option?

Three seat options strangely for the RS3:

The two already in the S3 - standard seats pictured above (same as those in standard-engine Sport and S line A3s) and Super Sports as optional in the S3 and S4 and standard in the RS4 - plus buckets a la RS4 options list

Buckets will be an option, but I suspect for me it will come down to trading a couple of big options off against each other... Would rather have the exhaust with good enough seats.

I'm not as anorexic as the guy in the evo video, maybe I'll slide around less.

Audi are fecking cheeky for charging 900 to *not* fit the centre silence box into the exhaust. They should be charging *less* for the exhaust, not more!

Its no different really to say my old B6 S4 Milltek. Purchased as 'res' with a centre box. Swapped to 'non res' with a straight pipe deleting the centre box. Funnily enough the straight through pipes are a lot less to buy than the pipes with the centre silencer.....

I had those seats in my S3. Nowhere near as nice as the buckets in the RS. Definitely moved around a bit in them.
