Headlight Washer Stuck

Post by Stairs » Fri Feb 13, 2015 8:37 pm

My driver side headlight washer comes out but never retracts all the way back in, sometimes stays out all the way, sometimes pokes out a little, any easy solutions to this that anyone knows of??

Cheers

No, but my friends S3 does this so I'm subscribing to the thread for when you get replies. Sorry I can't help!

My car does this occasionally, but only during very cold weather.
This may sound daft, but could it be sticky because of the weather?

Didn't want to create a new topic for this, I have the same problem...

Some people say you pull the washer as far out as you can and then wiggle it. Springs and pins should then fall back in their right place.

Did this and it didn't work for me, can anybody tell me how I could possibly fix this?

Both of mine have stopped working, I think it must be an electrical problem. Must get round to sorting it out.

Did you check the fuse?

dont think there is electrics involved unless its tied into the lighting circuit somewhere so might be a fuse but the function itself is due to the high vol pump which pushes the piston out and then sprays from the jets, then the spring retracts it when pressure is off so if you hear the pump run it might be just stuck or the pipe is off ,
Phantom black saloon ,PES M112 Supercharged 520ps/595nm K&N filter, 100 cell milltek cats, res valved milltek system. 8 and 10mm H&R spacers.H&R roll bars, "smoke chrome " alloy refurb. JHM Quickshifter, Bilstein B16 coilovers , uprated diff mount ,50/50 devils own WM kit so 1.4 litres/min in intake approx 10% more power and torque
