Awesome bit of kit but unfortunately it will only now ever be a museum piece due to to the stratospheric increase in value of these great cars.

I hate to admit it but I'm feeling the same about tracking my own lowly 997.1 RS, its just too precious now to 'risk' it on the circuit. I can obviously still enjoy driving it on the road though but it would be/is an awesome track day car.

Very nice, I had a five year plan saving for one of these or even just the lowly Gt3, the way the prices have gone.... not a chance now unfortunately. :-(
I had a pax lap round the ring in a 997 GT3RS a few years ago (as payment for changing the guys rear pads for him) although I'm sure he would have taken me out regardless.
He wasn't scared to drive it as intended and OMG..... I was gripping on for dear life. :biggrin3:
Sprint Blue Rs4 (B7) is now my weekend toy :-)
Tweeked 16v 205gti is my DRT(dedicated Ring Toy) and always will be ! Awesome track toy.

I genuinely dont understand all the hype, and certainly not the prices.

They just dont feel that special to justify the rediculous amounts they are fetching now, I admit I haven't driven a 4.0 but it cant be quarer of a mill better than a regular one, and they aren't that great to begin with lol

Thanks Daz, I had a similar long term plan which saw me trading steadily upwards to ultimately arrive at the ultimate goal of the RS. However plans went completely askew when the prices took off about 18 months ago and I realised that it was truly 'now or never' as they would be out of my reach forever. It was a serious jump up for me financially and one I thought long and hard about, but by treating it as an investment I was able to justify it to myself and I'm so glad I did! However part of that plan was supposed to see me selling the RS4 but I just can't bring myself to do that.

I'm very envious of your PAX lap round the ring, its certainly something I'd love to do sometime soon, preferably in a Porsche with Sabine driving :)

Cars are meant for driving. And as stated its a shame the price has gone stratospheric as it stops owners driving them as they should. I know my RS4 is not in the same league but OCD is taking over and I hate it when it doesn't look showroom fresh. But I can't help canning the bolx off it and taking it too the ring and collecting stone chips on the UK's pristine highways and byways. My arse.
RS4 B7, Mugello Blue, K&W V3 & HR ARBs, set up by Centre Gravity, Milltek Valved Non Res & cat bypass pipes, BMC air filter, braided hoses, DOT 5.1, Terraclean, MRC Full Carbon Clean, MRC remap 448PS 477NM, 20" S7 alloys with 4mm spacers & Hawke spigots 66.6 > 57.1, AP Racing front discs. I would use the 3m healing film, I've got it on RIV I can honestly say I have not had any stone chips to the front end,I would track that 911 you only live once, you can't take the car with you
