Sorry to hear this. I know how you feel, when I had a evo 6 I returned home and they had trashed the whole house looking for keys :(

gutted to hear this mate, fcukers!!! makes me mad   I hope they good the book thrown at them! and they need a good kicking!

Best to put the car someone else for a bit? get a disklok visual deterrent if the car sits on the drive most days

personally i would take the car to work with you a few days a week, random the days just so its not sitting there for them to eye up

tbh you would think they would go for the newer rs6's these days but any car is always a target for scum

Not much really.
Fcukers bailed pending enquiries until March.
No comment interview .
I can't see there being much forensics as they were wearing gloves and were arrested beyond the time period for glass fragments .
Witnesses don't really want to get involved as the Fcukers are travellers
Not expecting much of a result really.
Garage planned but that takes time and money .
Could have been worse didn't lose anything and going to be about a grand out of pocket for the damage .
On the plus side went to MRC and overall the news was good . Small list of jobs , going in tomorrow for cv joint ,alignment ,fuel filter and short oil cooler pipe replacement.

They were travellers and they've bailed them? Well they will have vanished by now!!

Would you rather pay a bag of sand or affect your premium? I truly hate the way insurance works.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Sorry to hear it mate, thieves will stop at nothing.

Mines going in the Garage next week, we've just forked out thousands making the entrance 7' to 16' and upgrading the structure & a new remote controlled Roller Door, which is being installed next week. We've also got CCTV covering all entrances and the drive.

I've spent more on security since I've had the RS6 then I have previously.

If they have a bailable address I don't think there's much choice.

£500 buildings excess- haven't had the bill for the board up and repair of the door but expecting circa £600 then the insurance company will only pay for a new panel even though what I've done is fitted a new wireless alarm for £380 ish . It would have cost them much more to have a company come and replace with a new panel for the wired alarm and replace the damage wiring but they don't see it that way and still want to just replace the panel which is about £110.
I also have a £500 contents excess but as it turns out the only thing I thought was taken I found so nothing to claim there.

Exactly is it worth it claiming ? I'm not sure how it works will it count against me telling them about the claim even if I don't cost them anything ?
It seems like I only stand to be able to claim a couple of hundred quid so if it won't count against me I'd probably lose that in premiums over the next few years.

The insurance companies really don't encourage you to be honest that's for sure . No wonder some folk 'bump' there claims up risking all the hassles of getting caught but motivated just by trying to come out with a fair deal in the end.

Thanks Jim,

Looking at various different types but trying to get the right size etc .i would like room for two cars ideally and want it deep enough and wide enough to be able to work on the cars in comfort.
I also want to stick within permitted development rules as I live in the green belt and planning can be difficult.
