The cheapest ever mate!!!!
infact i will owe her money

Re: B7's and super unleaded thirst
£1.15 for Shell Vmax in central London this afternoon, that is pretty sweet when a full tank is in the £60s especially as I fill up once a week.
I know its not a big saving but feels an achievement all the same

Re: B7's and super unleaded thirst
Fuel's about 40 rubles a litre here, which is about the same as it was a year ago. Except the ruble is worth about half now what it was then. Filling up my RS6's 80 litre tank costs me roughly 30 quid now from "0 miles to go" on the DIS. ~40p/L
I gather the RS4 has a slightly smaller tank? Not yet visited a petrol station with it. Hope to have it back tomorrow after extensive maintenance.

40p/L - pfffffffft, wouldn't it be cheaper to run it on vodka?JCviggen wrote:Fuel's about 40 rubles a litre here, which is about the same as it was a year ago. Might've been if not for the taxes on vodka.bam_bam wrote:wouldn't it be cheaper to run it on vodka?
Funny story, it's bloody cold around here in winter but you can't get any good windscreen wiper fluid. The stuff they use everywhere to keep it from freezing is taxed at the same rate as hard liquor in this country - so that's out. The alternative mixes we're left with either freeze or have no cleaning properties whatsoever. Which is an issue considering this place has the dirtiest roads in the world when it snows.

So by that rationale you should probably just wash your windscreen with petrol and set fire to it to clean and defrost it. Russian common sense.

Re: B7's and super unleaded thirst
Pretty much. I can only assume people drinking wiper fluid was an issue at some point
Still, small price to pay. Since the devaluation I can drive past a speeding camera 30 km/h too fast and the fine is about 5 quid. It's just the inconvenience of picking up the fine at the post office and then pay for it at the bank, bit of a hassle.

Nice one. One of the first sensible posts I have read on here when talking fuel. Affordability has nothing to do with it. High fuel bills is a consequence of owning one. If anyone is actually happy about how much fuel their rs4 consumes well then I don't really know what to say about that. I do know that if we could all halve our fuel bills we would. I guess then you'd get the morons who would say nah sod it, I will pay double because that's what owning one is all about...jaysrs4 wrote:Rick, go easy mate. He's a new owner just getting used to the car. I've known of Niall for a long time now and (I know you eluded to it) he's certainly got enough funds to run his RS. I think if any of you were me, you may have sold your car to him for what he offered me for mine, he's not short of a bob or two, considering the level of his old R32.
Running an RS4 as a daily is enough to hurt anyone's wallet, nothing wrong with being a bit thrifty with the running costs if you're sensible.

Just ordered 4 tires for £800 and I was skipping all the way to ats.
