Its definitely a good buy if your paying cash, but would work out pretty costly using Audi dealer finance as their APR for used is pretty bad, I guess you could use a different funder though. It looks great apart from those shocking wheels, a refurb would sort them out I guess.

These are not Range Rover Sports. Audi AG clearly has a glut of them they are shoving down the UK's throat
Again, I understand in principle
However, they're moving [within reason] on the second hand market, so they've no incentive to sell at a loss when they could potentially at least break even
Plus, pushing out loss making 'low priced' sales on the second hand market is detrimental to new sales as it make punters perceive the car will depreciate more heavily than reality. Something they appear to be struggling with at the moment is sales, so a more solid ecconimic strategy would be to advertise on the second hand market at inflated values

Unless someone's local to that dealer or buys the bargain car, I guess we'll never know

Makes for interesting reading though

That's not necessarily correct. Bought a 10 month old car in December. Got them to match a personal loan apr I was quoted and still got the dealer deposit and free servicing (5%).

I don't think I would want a demo of an rs4. On my test drive - launch control was used on a number of occasions and It was red lines with sun 500 miles on the clock - maybe if it was a 2.0tdi it might be different..?

Nearly new ex demos are very hard to shift given current discounts to pcp a new one,I've been mooching 3.0 tdi black editions as a possible replacement to my pair of b7's,a white 64 plate at Sheffield audi caught my eye at £35k but a little digging reveals you can get a new one for that with current discounting and they offer better interest rates on new,who would bother buying even slightly used unless at least 5 k away from a branny, dealer admitted they struggle to shift em for that very reason.Discounting new is good for sales figures but smashes initial residuals unfortunately so I think the asking price of 50k is about right for the ex demo RS4

I think dealers assume that not all people do quite as much research, negotiating and shopping around as some people do. I once saw a car online, drove it an hour later and collected the next day having paid Sticker price. One of the best cars I've owned but worst finance deal ever. Sales and Finance must have pissed themselves after I drove off. The only saving grace was I got in PX what I paid for the car 6 months previously.

I think you've said it yourself. There are a whole load of factors involved as well as the physical screen price. Finance rate, service plan / free services, extras thrown in, agreeing to pay x for the car as long as certain extras are allowed to be added at cost / heavily discounted price etc

For example, the family A3 had 3k+ of extras (paint, phonekit, MFSW, 6CD, BOSE, Nav, parking, non default choice alloys) and was very well priced to start with - same age cars with more miles and no options (bar paint) were the same price at other dealers. Got a reasonable amount off considering, but also negotiated a removable tow bar at what must have been close to cost plus vat (included a new rear bumper with its removable panel being painted). Saved as much there as we did on the windscreen price. We'd been quoted 50% as much again from other dealers to fit a towbar, so it made sense to negotiate fitment with the supplying dealer

As it states the Misano RS4 wont be available until 25th Feb, I wonder how many more miles than the 700 will be added if its the Sales Managers car?

My local stealership has an RS6 registered and being used by the Sales Manager but they are open to offers on it now so I guess, at the right price, they would let this RS4 go early?

They have to retain for minimum time or miles. So as long as that is met, then yes.

Reminds me of this one I brought in for my customer who ended up going for a new SQ5. It's immaculate, nice spec, too.

- Black styling pack
- Sports pack
- Heated front and rear seats
- B&O
- Parking Advanced
- Advanced key
- Folding & Dimming door mirrors
- Privacy glass
- Manual side blinds

It's just under 2k miles, at £49,970.00, was mid sixties IIRC new, not priced it up recently.

Heard back from the dealer today, the car isn't a demonstrator and was privately owned, and the mileage is 930
Seems it really is a bargain
