Went with VIP tickets last year,
with the package we had a free ride in the caterhams so if this is the same get over there first as there was a long wait.you mainly get a place to put your coat, somewhere to sit down with a good coffee ( aka leaving the other half so you can wonder round and look at the girls in the tight Lycra suits),the real VIP's come to you for their autograph signing, goodie bag, padded seat and middle arena viewing - food and wine / fizzy stuff during the live area show, goodie bag, refund if you park your car, goodie bag, ect.really a pleasant place to be,
The only down side is we had trouble finding the VIP area and a lot of the NEC staff had no idea where it was .So get there ealry and use it.
Have fun and don't forget your goodie bag.
was it worth the extra.... let us know when you have been.

Re: Performance Car Show Birmingham NEC
Just posted this on PH too:
Just got back today after going to the show yesterday and stayed 2 nights at the Hilton. I enjoyed the show as a one off and can understand why some people would go every year especially if your looking to buy or get deals on parts etc. However, my wife got us VIP tickets for Christmas and whilst £35 each would have been worthwhile she paid £120 each for us and I don't think we got anything extra really for it. The tickets stated "drinks and canapes" on arrival at the VIP area which turned out to be tea or coffee and biscuits (all day)??? Bit misleading!
Plus we were sent to get paddock passes at the start by security only to then get in and have them swapped over. Our seats for the live action arena meant the most of it happened behind one of the pillars supporting the roof and we did get a can of coke instead of tea or coffee for a change there plus danish patries which we had already had for breakfast at the Hilton so no thanks! Entrance to the Coy's auction was ok but all in all I struggle to see where we benefited by paying £170 extra as our 'goody bags' contained a couple of magazines a small Lotus model and a mug. I feel like a mug really but like I said my wife bought the tickets without my knowledge.
So basically just having somewhere to sit wasn't a benefit as we had a hotel room 5 minutes away and people outside the VIP area were just getting autographs the same as us as well by standing next to the area. No free ride in anything either this year John.
Mind you I still enjoyed driving all the way there and back again!

Went there today but will be the last time as there were less cars and more trade stands. The indoor area show was the same as last year or very close to last years format.
audi driver 79 sorry there was no fizz and canapés which does ask what did you really get for £120.But apparently they did sell out of the vip tickets.
Must admit that I did feel the show had gone down this year. The hall with the hot rods did have a few gaps which last year was filled.
Did meet the guys from Audi tuner mag.... Some big ideas in the pipe line and got a free mag.
But at least you got a weekend in brum with the wife.......

How did you get the mag free I had to pay the cover price. It does look good and I'm sure there will be members cars in it at various times. I can think of a few already that should appear.
I stopped going to the show a couple of years ago as it became quite boring and the live action bit quite poor. Returned this year nice day out but certainly wouldn't pay more than the basic ticket price
