No opposite lock, and jumps on the brakes when it's sideways, which surely has the same effect as yanking on the handbrake?

Ouch indeed!

I love how his instinct was to steer into oncoming traffic and drive the wrong way up a carriageway rather than drive the right way and have to drive past the crowd again!
