Mine's stock but been carbon cleaned and happily sat with an RS5 comfortably and he was definately trying (and a little upset!). Also side by side runs with a tuned B5 and absolutely nothing in it. The latter I was shocked by having previously owned a B5, I did not expect a B7 to keep up at all.carsarecool wrote:So a "good" B7 is a modded B7?RIV wrote:Funny that, I raced a brand new black B8 on the Autobahn last summer on the way to Berlin. From 50mph to 184mph. We stayed together all the way matching each other and letting each othe overtake and accelerate to see if each other kept up. And we did. Admittedly Im modded as below. But what a great race and a good lad he was. So sorry but a good B7 will match a B8.Ha ha no doubt about it the b7 is good, but I spanked one on the way back from a meet the other day, made me laugh about lengsters comments about the b8 not handling well
Anything or than a straight line dash will be down to the driver. As said that slick 'box in the B8 will no doubt be the cause of the 15 second improvement at the 'ring. From my limited time behind the wheel of a B8 though, I have to say it feels bigger and more refined but handles very well indeed.
