Ha ha no doubt about it the b7 is good, but I spanked one on the way back from a meet the other day, made me laugh about lengsters comments about the b8 not handling well

Funny that, I raced a brand new black B8 on the Autobahn last summer on the way to Berlin. From 50mph to 184mph. We stayed together all the way matching each other and letting each othe overtake and accelerate to see if each other kept up. And we did. Admittedly Im modded as below. But what a great race and a good lad he was. So sorry but a good B7 will match a B8.

So a "good" B7 is a modded B7?

Mine's stock but been carbon cleaned and happily sat with an RS5 comfortably and he was definately trying (and a little upset!). Also side by side runs with a tuned B5 and absolutely nothing in it. The latter I was shocked by having previously owned a B5, I did not expect a B7 to keep up at all.

Anything or than a straight line dash will be down to the driver. As said that slick 'box in the B8 will no doubt be the cause of the 15 second improvement at the 'ring. From my limited time behind the wheel of a B8 though, I have to say it feels bigger and more refined but handles very well indeed.

Must of been just a remap with the B5 420ish ? Or unhealthy B5 ? Or you have a very strong engine

I was thinking the same Lynchy. I did joke with him that perhaps he had a boost peak, lol. I can't remember what he's done to his car now, think it's map, filter, exhaust and gutted precast but could be wrong. Either way, I'm happy with that. Also the RS5 helps to confirm its about right. Need to have a proper 'scientific' side by side run with Will's B8. We've had a bit of a play but nothing proper.

That's the problem with the B5 marc1 has to be healthy with no boost leaks as you know

I know mate and its a full time job keeping it all in order! The B5 (Rob French Polisher's) was on form though on the day. Jimbo was lighting up his tyres in fourth I think, lol!

Just an alternative view re Bramleys. A very close friend bought his B7 from them. He then needed some works done under warranty so he went to his local dealership, only to discover that it was a grey import & Bramleys hadn't been at all clear about it. The end result, only 12 months warranty from Audi & a big bill facing my mate.

I think the final out come was that my mate got the warranty extended & also had a 'gesture of good will' agreement with Bramleys due to it being imported, but it took way longer than it should have done to resolve. The details are sketchy in my mind, so some of the above may be a little out, but I just thought I would add an alternative view on the service they provide.
