Please see my post above.
Just as I had notification of your reply, Stafford Audi rang. Coincidence!

61k on the clock
3 previous owners
DRC replaced with coilovers
Not supplied with AUC warranty, but will have 12mth private warranty.
Full Independent 'specialist' service history, last serviced in Oct.
5mm tread all round

On that basis I told them I wouldn't want to pay anywhere near the asking price, and I would only consider it at all if I had it in writing from them that the gearbox would be covered by the warranty if it went kaput.

This was ceveman73 car. He sold it for a C6 RS6. When he first put it up for sale we had agreed a deal at 16.5k but then his car was delayed and I needed a car quick so I didn't buy it in the end. This was over a year ago and at that time it had Ohlins suspension on it and a non res Milltek system. Here is a link to the advert he placed again once he found the C5 he was after: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=108285

If it's still got the Ohlins on then it could be very interesting indeed.

Thanks, that makes interesting reading, so does his previous posts on the car. At the point of his sale the car was in fine form, but since then it's done many thousand miles so it will seemingly need some 'love' very soon in the form of discs, pads and tyres etc

It's clear to me that Stafford Audi know very little about the car, especially the remap because I asked if there was any mention of tuning in the history, to which they replied no and thought it was standard.

As others have said though, without an audi warranty of some sort, it's probably not worth the risk and price. But ohlins do make it tempting. :)

That's if the ohlins are still fitted, if someone's removed the miltek and other nice bits they might of gone to the trouble of replacing the shocks , just a thought

He ended up in a maroonie/purplish C6, very nice. This car won't have C6 peelers on it, I bought those off him but the Ohlins were still on it when it was enroute to the stealers. Just PM the Mart man himself, very nice bloke.

In an ideal world I'll find a good one at a great price, obviously.
I don't think you'll find an Audi dealer car with proper Audi warranty for 15k . There's too many private and specialist ones kicking about recently for 15k+ .

How far away from Stafford are you ?

Definitely forget about the 20k Stafford car when forum cars are going for 10-12k with receipts for a gearbox replacement / rebuild etc

I would suspect the lack of stock damping is why it's not being offered with an Audi warranty. Aren't Stafford Audi a forum Sponsor now too?
