light and strong Audi R8 V8
Re: light and strong Audi R8 V8
Hi
The R8 V10 as also the RS5 have identical entrance and exhaust channels.
At the R8 V8 the channels are extended onto the level of the RS5 and it nothing worsens through that.
That of the RS5 only 450 PS has, is due to the ceramic catalytic converter with 600cpi and at the bad air supply behind the big Restrictor end flaps ( intake Manifold ).
All measure at the R8 V8 engine.
Exhaust manifold RS5 without catalytic converters,
Bigger Restrictor end flaps,
Bigger air mass meters housing,
Bigger air filters K&N,
Intake manifold worked on,
Exhaust system.
481 PS are engine performance with these measures.
The shown measures are the next configuration level for 500 PS.
Again bigger Restrictor end flaps,
again bigger air mass meters housing,
enlargement the entrance and exhaust of channels,
adaption of the intake manifold and separation the intake manifold's,
entrance valves with thin staff.

Best of luck. So, how much did all of this cost?
No matter where you go, there you are.

FFS, stop bickering.
Bam doesn't give a crap about what you or anyone else says so don't waste your time.

I make zero excuses for being a c-unit, nothing to hide there. However, anyone proclaiming to be 'nice' is on a high horse, whether you're nice or not is usually decided by other people. But hey, if telling people you're a nice guy is working, have at it son.
How is it you can judge someone's spare time by looking at screen? How long does it take for you to compose a post? Clearly it taxes you a little too much, best go have a nap, nanna.

Re: light and strong Audi R8 V8
That kind of benefit I can see - certainly removing cats and tuning the exhaust will help a lot. If I had to guess, a majority of the gain would be there.Speedr8 wrote:Hi

But you can't expect to continue to get similar improvements by continually increasing intake paths. It's going to be diminishing returns and you will (if not already) hit a point where air velocity will drop below the 60m/sec region where things drop off dramatically. Everything you are doing would work great if you could increase the rpm limit. I suspect you'd be already over 500ps in that case. The shown measures are the next configuration level for 500 PS.

Stock the engine is about 295 lb/ft at 8k rpm so you'd only(!) need to maintain that to 8.5k to get the figures you've got now. Maintaining torque is a lot easier than making more! Trying to get 500 ps anywhere near 8k rpm will really have to push the volemtric efficiency up and even audi managed a figure over 100% which isn't too shabby.

Hi
The torque for 481 PS is with 440 NM near 7700 rpm.
A rise of the torque by +20 NM at 7700 rpm increase up the engine power to 504 PS.
Also +10NM torque would be possible and went up the engine speed on 7800 rpm > 500PS
The changes will suffice to the wanted engine performance.

I really like the way you mentioned ages back about moving on and letting things go... But you just can't can you!

I'm interested to see what you've built engine wise in the past, you give so much advise you must have something to show us??
