Launch control

Post by rabies » Fri Nov 14, 2014 3:45 pm

Does anyone know if the C7 has a launch control feature and how to enable it. Couldn't find it in the manual - or am I just blind?

put the car in sport, hold the brake with left foot and then floor the accelerator pedal, the revs will hold at about 3k and then just let go of the brakes.

I think that the traction control needs to be in sport as well, not 100% sure

Saw this post on another site about a C7 S6 - wonder if it's right - don't want to blow my transmission if not - any other ideas?

1) Put car in 'Dynamic' mode.
2) Turn off ASR (press and hold the button for a few seconds until you see a notice come up on the screen in the instrument cluster)
3) Put the shifter in Manual/Sport mode (Not sure if it works in auto?)
4) Press brakes down all the way
5) Floor the accelerator down all the way. RPMs should come up and hold at about 5000rpm.
6) Let go of brake pedal and keep right foot floored.

It wasn't on the demo car I had (not that I wanted to ask sales guy incase he thought I was going to kill his car)
On my RS4 and also on later R8, process is select sport, turn tc off, hold car on brake with left foot, hold both steering wheel paddles together for around 3seconds, nail throttle to the floor and car should (in case of rs4/r8) hold revs at around 5k and then, when ready to go, take left foot off brake and hold on tight :)

None of that needed well for the RS6 at least. As mentioned before traction into sport which takes one press of the traction button. Gearbox into s push it back towards you should indicate S on dash, left foot brake right foot mash the pedal lock about 3,000 -3,500 release brake and goes for it. 100% on all models not optional and worked so easy on the 2 I had don't understand why it's not working for you.
