I have the Ctek MXS, I dont have the cigar lighter connector and dont have time to get one as the car is going away for winter tomorow, is it fine to just connect the clamps to the battery and leave it on setting 8 as per the instructions?

Simple instructions but the car will be left in the garage for the next 3 or 4 months and I dont want to burn the house down

Yes. My 205 is always connected this way - bonnet popped in garage, connected via battery terminals
