The RS6 comes with Bose as standard and, for Russian Oligarchs, there is the B&O option at £6000; but I don't think there are any stereo upgrades available for the RS6.

Good the RS comes with Bose as standard but i'd refer to it as adequate rather than great unless it's tuned differently for it's use in the RS6. Crazy how much B&O is on certain cars. In our Q5 it was less than a grand but did sound superb & i believe that used to be the price on the C6, A5's & R8's, however in the A8's it was an Active Speaker system & approaching £6k which now i guess is the same on the C7's?. In the M5 the B&O option is also an active speaker system as per Audi's but is only £3k. I baulked at even that price so went Harman Kardon which is similar in stature to Audi's Bose.

I do like decent music in the car, but spending thousands takes some serious balls. That said when i 1st heard the B&O in an S8 a couple of years ago, i was literally blown away :jump_clap:

What's the point in sports exhaust and B&O sound at the same time. If I hearing the noise from the exhaust and its crackle in overrun is my thing, then it would stand to reason that the quality of whatever the stereo is outputting is going to play second fiddle IMHO.

And whatever stereo you install a car has the acoustics of a bean can. Better off spending 6k on hifi kit for home.

Agreed

If you really have an extra 6 large to spend on a car....spec it with "man" accessories!!!...not a wireless.

Or spend it on a holiday to Vegas!!

Because 100% of the time you are booting it to be able to hear the exhaust? What about when in traffic or cruising in a 30 zone?

GBP 6K for B&O not so bad when compared with us here in HK. After tax, the B&O costs HKD140k, which is GBP11k, yikes!

Someone nailed it, what's the point of getting sports exhaust and upgrading the stereo at the same time? XD

Because a bose is perfectly fine for those times, and if wanting an audiophile time, its better done when not needing to listen out for other sounds or concentrate on driving.

I suppose each to their own, but £6k for a car stereo upgrade is ridiculous. Give that sort of money to a decent aftermarket modifying company and they will come up with something that sounds far better than the B&O (imho).

As above. Maybe i see these cars differently to everyone else, but surely their purpose is to be a hybrid (usage not power plant)?? I buy such cars to some of the time be a luxurious mile muncher for my 500 mile monthly round trips to my HQ & long schleps to Spa/Nordschleife & some of the time on track going balls out. The whole purpose is it does both very well but when i'm sat on the M6 Toll at silly o clock cruising at 80ish MPH i like to be listening to some music & i like the quality to be good (not £3k-6k B&O good) On track of course i don't & often during the odd playtime i don't but i spend a lot of time driving the car as a vehicle & some of the time driving the car as a rocket.

That's the draw as i'm driving a premium vehicle that does nutter & cruiser perfectly. When cruising i like luxury & have no desire to ring my cars neck & listen to the engine/zorst, however when playing i most certainly do want to.

I sold my GT-R for the very reason that it did nutter epically well but it always needed to be driven fast as that's what it does well, the crushing bit which for me is a requirement as well as a like it didn't do so well.

Doodlebug i commented about speed limit display on its own here u mentioned it was still on its own but i can only seem to add it in conjunction with assistance pack. ? Could be confusing myself here.

My bad, it's a separate item, but is dependant on the assistance pack.

A few things which I had and miss on my current car and can't see on your spec:

Power door soft close - £750.00
Advanced Key - £750.00
Homelink - ?? (Can't see it on configurator?)

The power door soft close is a nice feature rather than essential but I personally like it and I wince now when I close car doors :)
Advanced key, you can just forget about having to get the car key out of your pocket which is a big plus for me. There has been a little press about the security problems with this though!
I can't see Homelink anymore but I found it very useful. Programming it required two people but it just saved trying to access a keyfob buried in my pocket somewhere.

I probably would have gone for Alcantara headlining but it would have delayed by build date last year. There is nothing wrong with the standard headlining.. Alcantara just looks and feels great.

Homelink is gawn. Dropped from A6 now. It doesn't take two people!!
