They (the matrix LEDS) are now a roughly £700 option on 3/4's of the new A6 range. Yes of course some people won't bother with them.. but they look good and I'm pretty sure the option to go to the LEDS before on a standard A6 was about £2,500. Given the aesthetics and the safety aspects I would suggest that £700 extra is not a million miles off a must have.

2.5k on everything below s-line. 945 on s-line and above.

That's evolution for you.

Fundamentally the matrix variant is better. It's a fecking headlight at the end of the day!

LOL there is only one model below S line and 2 above it.. so like I said 3/4 of the range.. and yes £945 inc vat, £725 without. (Unless of course you are talking about the older options?)

For me the headlight on the RS6 was what made it stand out, the aggressive front spoiler to a lesser degree. Obviously the enlarged arches added to the stance of the car. I like the new lights but they are (probably) not going to have the same uniqueness as the old ones did and my argument is that the FL car has actually lost some of its uniqueness.

To hell with happy...lets turn this into yet another pointless post on the FL...almost as boring as all the hijacked threads when the bragging rights were associated with 'ramics

Image

Matrix technology is way cool... no getting away from that. However the look is not immediately discernible from the standard LEDs; which will be fitted to all but the SE models.

(pictures grabbed from brochures on Audi Web site- Surprising how similar the LED variants are)

And we are agreed :) Err.. maybe.

You are right, there is almost no difference between the Matrix look and the normal look. Worse than I expected really.

Awsome pic. I bet your having some fun driving it. The red calipers look good. I didn't even think of them when I was specing my car. Might be a last minute change to the order

RS6 is one of those cars I'm sure anyone who owns one or anyone who had one on a extended test drive will know which is pretty much all of us. Photos don't do it justice until your up close in the flesh then you really appreciate it and it looks bloody good parked on the driveway  .

OK, so we've done the lights...it's cool to see so many differences of opinion. Maybe its because I'm not an impressionable age anymore and although I enjoy listening to the opinions of others I'm rarely swayed. One very contentious issue I've found with the RS6 is the choice of interior colour. I think the racing seats especially, are stunning (and comfortable). It just seems such a shame to me to hide all that lovely detail by speccing black. I know many will talk about how wet jeans ruin silver leather and how difficult it is to clean but a light interior really lifts me every time I get in a car and combined with a Pan roof its like driving on a Spring Day every time. As for the cleaning problem, I just carry a tub of Dr Wipes in the boot, not only do they keep the leather spotless but a quick weekly wipe keeps that new car fragrance going for months.

Interior looks stunning, IMO, and so much more interesting than the dull old black that my current cars have.

I like dull old black, and it's better with kids. If you scuff light leather there's no hiding it.

Horses for courses.

I slightly prefer black or red interiors but my partner's range rover is off white and it looks great although as doodlebug says it does scuff more easily. I thought the contrast stitching on the black interior worked particularly well on my RS6 although I haven't seen the white version in the flesh.

That interior looks awesome...I am not adult enough to be trusted with such a light interior...I've normally got grease or grime on me at some point particularly when running my son's kart at the weekends! Overalls are not the done thing and a protective seat cover is just one stop short of running a beaded one!

Absolutely! Love the look but couldn't live with it (not for several years, at least).

Looks great! The red brake's really do make a difference, so much so I've specced them myself!

Thanks for sharing.
