RS6 now on German configurator

I see that - at last - the RS6 has just gone onto the German Configurator so I guess it is now available to order in Germany.

Not much use to us here, but there are a couple of things of interest (according to the configurator):

TPMS shows specific tyre pressures and temperatures for each wheel. I thought the RS6 previously only used the ABS-based wheel speed differential monitoring system. Or has the RS6 always had full TPMS?

Matrix headlights are not standard, they cost E900. They could be standard in the UK, of course.

Full acoustic glass is still available as an option in Germany.

No red interior option.

It's always had sensors in the wheels, even the old C5 reads pressure and temperature, although stupidly you can only see this info in VCDS and not through the dash. I don't think the speed differential system would work well on a high powered, heavy car like ours. If the tyre was only slightly low it could still overheat at high speed.

Double glazing basically.

Standard on UK spec cars.

Only for the front screen and windows in the UK, and the description has been significantly trimmed for the FL, so it is not clear that it is the full acoustic glass that is available in the UK (i.e. double glazing). The German cars still have the option of the double-glazed acoustic glass for all windows except the rear hatch.

We don't know when the plain RS6 will be available, let alone whether an RS6+ will exist.

Thanks for confirming. I didn't know. It's amazing how a manufacturer can produce a website and brochure and completely omit specification details such as an entire TPMS system.

Price and specification for the new RS 6 Avant are confirmed and the model is open for ordering in SLi.

Production starts in build week 49 2014 and models are expected to arrive at Centres in February 2015.

The product improvement (PI) maintains the RS 6 Avant’s position at the pinnacle of the A6 family - it’s the sporting flagship with high levels of advanced technology.
