I was a no - but just about to book a flight to Geneva on wednesday, meeting some mates for some skiing as snow is AWESOME. Going to get there early and drop in to the motor show - where I might have a rush of blood and do something stupid. Anyone else going to be there?

Seriously considering it but want to drive the car first. Audi UK should sort out a day for potential buyers asap if the want to sell some.

I've got an order sitting out there somewhere. But I can't be bothered to chase it. Just not interested in a bling yank barge even if it looks like it has a particularly nice steering wheel. Lets see what the avant brings.

Then by all means don't buy it!

I'm on a wait list in a "yank" dealership. I'll fork over the cash just as soon as they let me. Too bad you're not on this side of the pond to experience the thrill of watching my tail lights disappear. Ahh, that's OK, they'll be plenty of folks that ask the question "What the hell was that?"

Seriously, this geocentric predjudice from the UK is just a little trite after all these years. Relax, you won the Ryder Cup!

Saloon looks like a vectra GSI  ........order in for an Avant and if its very very good i might chop in my RS4 against a new one.

More than likely i will pick up an avant once its 18months+ old.

Dealer called me yesterday asking for another £500 to go on the central Audi UK order list - seems like they are administering one central list and not doing dealer allocation for the RS4. He also said all future communication would be directly from Audi as I am now on the central list of customers who have paid deposits.

He also said that if I was to sell my place in the queue then Audi UK would not deliver the car.

I asked him 2 questions:

How much will it cost?
What are the production numbers (is it limited)?

He could answer neither, so I said he could have the extra £500 when he answered my questions.

Simon

PS Order is an Avant...naturally

Quite right too. He's a main dealer and he doesn't know the answers to simple questions and yet wants you hand over your money?

After actually seeing the car at Geneva and finding out the final details of the new RS4 (saloon is butt ugly and power just ain't enough) unfortunately i think (maybe the Avant will change my mind) that i am moving my choice to the new Corvette Z06. Many people will say "what!!!", but i have heard so many great things about this car and the power, acceleration etccc....WOW!!! I have a Touareg V10 so getting the RS4 wouldn't realyy make sense. This way i'll have the comfortable big 4x4 car and the beast.
Cheers,
Cris

Had exactly the same at the local dealer yesterday....£1500 to go onto the offical list.
Dealer has deposits for 5 Avants and 3 Saloons as of yesterday.
