The rack is made by a German company, (can't remember name) and are half price if you buy direct. Don't buy from Audi!!!

I think the rack might be made by ZF. But either way, you can buy the original part from the manufacturer, non Audi part from http://allgermanparts.co.uk

Have no fear my friend, I will definitely not be taking it to Audi. Just found out that TPS retail this rack at £1100. Luckily for me however my buddy over there can give me a pretty good discount.

I'm pretty sure you can buy the original ZF branded rack for about £500.

They seem to list just LHD parts. Might give them a call although I'm not sure they'll be as cheap as mates rates.

I've dealt with ZF UK before, they were very good on the phone and knew their excrement. I'd hit them up before going any further.

I've tried them before regarding gearbox stuff and was deferred to one of their suppliers. Which number did you use?

I find you lose a lot of the feeling with Vaseline so prefer it dry.
