For those of us waiting...

Post by wildbore » Thu Sep 11, 2014 7:43 am

Audi has released a short video of the new RS6, with distinct James Bond overtones in the score:

I wish they would stop tempting me with that gorgeous red / black combo. I might yet have to go that way.

Car Magazine is into month 2 of it's long-term test:

Not seen any red/black interior option. Only way to that would be exclusive.

I think the waiting will continue for some time.

There is an interior shot of a S6 with the red seats in the new A6 brochure on the Audi.de site. Looks like red interior may become an option for MY15. It would go well with a black exterior colour, I think.
At the moment I am wavering between Panther black, Alu pack and red interior (silver, if red not available) and Misano Red with black pack and black interior.

Mmm, UK and DE specs vary vastly as do S and RS. If you want a steer look at RS7.

Brochures should be available this week. After a chaser yesterday I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling.

In what way are you not getting a warm fizzy feeling? Colour options for interior, or just that the whole brochure/pricing on facelift has not been forthcoming yet?

Have to say I'm quite envious of the poster yesterday that has picked up their Daytona, as its almost exactly the same as my order would have looked, and I'm questioning if my decision to switch to the facelift is going to make the wait even more unbearable now!

Also got me thinking about the red with gloss black combo. The test car I had for a couple of days was red. Though there is something about the stealth grey that just keeps pulling me in. The red and the sepang just get people looking at the car, and a lot of the draw for me is the ability to just blend into the background if you want to with this car.

Correct, all of the above. I wanted to be clear this week on spec, price, delivery date. I'd be surprised if I have clarity on any of those next week let alone this.

AUK are still pissing about.

Must admit, I keep refreshing the Audi website looking for brochure updates. No RS6 brochure on the German site to even use as a yardstick.

I'm still non the wiser with my order. The original info I received from audi stated that the pricing and spec would be released week commencing 8th of September. So there's still a chance but very unlikely anything will be released

I find it hard to believe how a company as big as audi can balls up the launch of a facelift so much. You would think they would at least try and get the info to the customers left in limbo with their orders as a priority.

They're just lucky it's such an awesome car or I think a lot of people, myself included would just pull their orders

I've pulled my order of the pre face lift because AUK stated in their own notification that pricing and spec would be releases this week, with deliveries November.

If its going to be much longer, I may just walk away altogether for a while and order for a 15 plate delivery. I was thinking of consoling myself with a couple more options to make up for the extra month or so wait.

Still, they could release the spec tomorrow ready for people ordering over the weekend I suppose.

There go the pigs....

I can't see a facelift RS6 arriving that long before March anyway.

I'm assuming if they can't even release specs/brochures/pricing on the week they say they will, I will have more chance of peeing in the queens handbag than actually transferring my order to a facelift and getting it delivered in November.

Surely it can't be as late as March?? As others have said, its just a facelift. Would they really be delivering pre facelift RS6's in October and then not delivering any for 5 months??

Haha. Yes it would definitely be a miracle if they release the spec tomorrow. Bit of positive thinking.

I have done the same my order has rolled over to the facelift model. Just want to get the spec sorted and see what colours are available now.

It'll be worth the wait.

Well, bear in mind 6-8 weeks from build to delivery and the Nov cars are going to be a lot of AUK, dealer demo cars and then starting with the billy basic models, plus Dec shut down. Even if you get a Dec build, car is not going to land until late Jan/Feb. There's no way you'll have a FL RS6 in Nov. They are still building pre-FL in Oct!

Those sort of timescales make perfect sense I guess. Its going to be interesting if they are delivering per facelift cars (of whatever variant/spec) for some considerable time after announcing and selling the facelift ones.

Ah well gets Christmas and a portion of the crappy weather out of the way I suppose.
