The most AMAZING drive from ring to spa....about an hour of insane Germany B roads in the dark, x3 R8 V10 and one Ur Quattro....then a 200mph vmax on an empty motorway

Dropped my car off for a full detail just outside Rotherham & with a welcome coffee in hand I awaited the arrival of our Leader to pick me up. Quick blast back to his in the GT-R where he then decided to crash into his own garage, damaging (curbing) the front nearside wheel, fooking up the garage door frame & slicing his tyre down to the canvass.

It took me quite some time to stop laughing, but eventually i did & this then forced his hand to swap his wheels over to the track set which are shod in 888's (weather is looking good for Spa so probably a blessing in disguise). This then also lead to a brake pad change so spent most of my afternoon watching (note my lack of help) Phil swapping wheels & pads. This in itself was comical as he spotted an obvious mistake from when he changed his discs over a few weeks ago, but i'll allow him to spill the beans on that scenario.

Probably best we head off to the pub now so he can;t cause any further damage. Looking forward t setting off tomorrow in one very shiny F10 M5 & one track ready GT-R.

Safe travels gents (& Louise) & see you at Nordschleife around lunchtime on Sunday.
i can vouch for the gaffer observing the techniques of his trainee.

Not everyone arrived in the same condition they left home this morning.

I will leave it up to others to tell their stories.
Hopefully everyone is physically okay - hopefully just dented pride rather than dented cars!

I did thanks Graham - Phil took me out around 15:30 IIRC - I am glad as (a) I didn't have a clue where I was going and (b) I didn't have a clue where I was going! It was nothing short of chaos out there and I was glad to get off in one piece after 2 laps back to back. I've ticked it off the bucket list - I am not sure I will do it again unless its a closed track day - It was pretty scary!

Cheers for the ticket fella as well - Nice one!

In that case I saw you fly past on the last straight as i was stood watching :) to be fair Sunday was ridiculously busy so can easily see why that would put you off, I went out on Friday and Saturday eve and there was hardly anyone on track, I would have been unsure about going out Sunday with so many people and loads of bikers especially. Shame to hear about your clutch, like I said Sunday, I had a few niggles too, a couple of laps of that track really do put a lot of strain on the old girl.... did you get that Autobahn run in too?

Great to meet up with everyone again...

Agree the Ring was just silly with massive ques to get on and off, I only managed a couple of laps and think it will be non public days for me in the future..

However, i managed to get Fredy from rent4ring (who drove the lap record in our old subaru) to take me out for a hott-ish lap later on....
8.06 Bridge to Gantry was impressive stuff and got a load of footage to upload as we get time and amazing too see what the B8 will do in the right hands pushing a 600+bhp Camaro around the lap was amazing to behold..!

Spa as usual was brilliant and nice and relaxed and if anyone is planning an overseas track day, this is the one imho but I have a strange addiction to the Nordschleiffe and may go for some intensive tuition next time.

I will upload some pics as soon as i get some time

Should have stayed 5-7pm at the ring Glen.
Was quiet, no queueing and hardly any traffic on the road once out.

Spa was awesome. Great weather too. I think I was the last person off the track on Monday evening, trying to squeeze the last drop of race track goodness out before the trek home. Next time I'll be there the two days, definitely.

Tuesday was 'interesting'! Eight hours driving and one break down. Or two if you include my sense of humour breakdown when I realised I was going to miss my boat - it'll be funny in a few days  . Fun fun fun on the autobahn

A special thanks PaulRS4 for sorting the garages out - I said I'd give you some money and then I forgot! And sorry again for not letting you past earlier in your Exige - you are way too polite, and I was way too naive!

And thanks Steve for the saint-like technical support in the pits. How much time did you spend fixing everyone's cars?! Beautiful GTR.

It was great to meet you all :beerchug:

read this on PH - Could this be Louie with the Purple wheels?

"Fantastic trip :-)
Weather was great , Some superb cars and Hendricks Gin in the bar in the evenings.
The GTR's were very very quick on the Kemmel straight and sounded superb, there was one with Pink(ish) wheels that was rapid and also doubled up as a
flame thrower out the back, which is the only view i ever got of it :-)
A replica ( i think ) GT40 sounded fantastic, however there was a dark blue Ferrari which was just rapid, and on another level and as it went past sounded just oh so good.
But car of the event for me was a silver 1972 911 it was just so right !"
