That's on 97 Ron fuel too. I think 500nm and 445 is possible on 99 tesco finest. I'm very happy with it. Midrange power has definitely improved on the butt-dyno.
Believe only the man who has nothing to gain from what he says.

nice, i ran mine with 99 but read they use alot of additives to tesco fuel, not sure if thats the case with the 99 stuff, but since using it when cold you accelerate it feels like a coil is going sometimes, could just be coincidence,

mine made 415ps and 421 nm recently unmapped, really tempted with mrc but feel the jhm boys know their stuff too, its great that 70 nm can also be had from the beast also

Yeah believe me Ben told me off for only having 97 RON in there. I completely forgot to fill with 99 before taking it there. Oh well, it can only get better!

I bet he did - and Doug just tutted! I had mine dyno'd on Shell and Tesco99 - the improved figures were on the later.

Yes, 99 and Tesco for me seems to work better - Doug agreed also that Tesco was becoming the favourite brand of 'squirt'...

So what did you make with 97 and then 99? Was there no other mods between the two runs? That sounds like an interesting test!

I've never put 97 in mine. Always been 99 V-bstard or Tesco. Zero mods between the two runs and the power increase was purely down to rinsing out the Shell 99 and replacing with Tesco 99 and re-dyno! This was all done in the space of 1-2 days at MRC. Doug mentioned on Tesco 99 he could tweak the timing/map a little more and hence the power gain.

Doug said he'd not really had chance to test between the two as he had to rinse the fuel out and replace - which is what they did as an experiment. Literally, the bhp and NM increase was down to switching to Tesco99 - nothing else... :biggrin2:

Doug was quite surprised and mentioned after that he'd look to running Tesco99 all of the time...

And (sorry, I've forgotten!) what were the figures on both fuels?

Doh! Sorry - I was meant to past a link to my Dyno report - first sheet is stock runs, second sheet is the comparison: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=108490&hilit=mrc&start=30#p657606
Stock, cleaned MRC Shell and finally MRC Tesco99

Shell V Power Nitro +: 432.3 and 468NM
Tesco99: 433.8 and 483NM

The main jump was in the torque...

Yes, easily I reckon, Ross.

You have damn fine figures there and with a fuel switch, the NM should break 500 like you say.

Those Baguettes are gonna arrive mighty quick :bigblink:

Now finding any excuse to take the car out. Chinese takeaway? I'll fetch it baby...

Waaaaaaaarppp! Honestly - I'm like a child again!

Fitted the EBC yellow stuffs this evening ready for the ring trip on the weekend - hopefully give even more confidence and bite on the brakes - an area that the previous pads were weak a few weeks ago there. Mind you - the previous pads were only £60 so really can't complain!

+1 - I find myself doing midnight-night runs for milk and Tesco99 squirt. I have enough milk to start a dairy farm...
