I agree, and our mates not UK based should get a chance to meet us on the Ring or Hockenheim trips....would be pretty cool

OK, so I had to hack the code a little to reflect how we do things on RS246, so now the required fields are:
email
Name
Occupation
Hobbies
Location
Bio
Type of car
Picture

What fun !!

and when everyone has a "fully charged battery" - what next mate?

OK, so let's find a visual coding here (Phil, you'll hate me for the implementation )

Member titles are already displayed so no change needed.

1. Battery charge : indicates level of completion of profile

2. Stars (in the charge indicator) :
- 1 to 5 : based on ratings by other registered members.

3. Bar Color of battery charge:
- Nogaro Blue : never attended an RS246 meeting
- GoodWood Green : attended 1 to 5 RS246 meetings
- Grey Avus : attended more than 5 RS246 meetings
- Imola Yellow : as Grey, plus attended the RS4 Challenge (so RS4 owners only)
- Daytona Grey : same as Yellow, but for the coming RS6 Challenge (so RS6 owners only).
- Brilliant Black : same as Yellow or D. Grey, plus attended the Ring.
- Misano Red : owns a Passat, an M Coupé, a male Giant Schnauzer and at least five snowboards. Very exclusive, cooptation required by other Reds.
"Oh me, me ! Pick me !"

Simple, huh ?

The "Mark all as read" was designed as a simple exercise and an easy victory, just to help you build more confidence with PHPNuke. You know, positive reinforcement and all that.

Bar is a great way to get the profiles updated. Not sure I'm happy about the meeting attendance as a way of gaining points??? for some it is much easier to attend than others. Most of the meets I have seen are at least 150 miles from my spot and sometimes mid week?

I believe ranking of thread posting can be a good indicator as can responses. The latter would require a wider use of field entries. The difficulty is encouraging this.....

Just a thought...

Fair point John, and we do tend to arrange small convoys or lodging is usually available.

On the other hand the rating system does suck, so what parameters could we use to rate people?

To start this off I'll propose the following points scheme:

Points Action
====== ======
5 Administrators and Moderators
1 Good quality points
1 Attend a Meet
1 Merit

All 1 point scores are discretionary and will be voted as counted or not by the Admins and Moderators. Points may also be revoked.

May sound a little dictatorish , but I think this is a good way of reflecting a user's progress in this community.
