TT Forum trackday at Castle Coombe today

Post by sitas3 » Sat Feb 19, 2005 8:42 pm

Don't know what happened to the original thread but just to say it was a good enjoyable meet there today and good to meet with Simple, Diesel and others at Castle Coombe, as well as Dunc who was hooning around as usual in the S3 keeping up with the TT boys (as well as Evo's and R32's!) and RS4John giving us the benefit of his instruction wisdom.

I think i'm too hard on my brakes - time for a driver upgrade (and new brakes :))

One thing I learned today was how well controlled the 996TT is on the track - superb compared to my red barge - after having a trip around with Simon - the brakes are superb and so refined!

I had a great time today. Tyres are shot to pieces but I really had a lot of fun today.

The weather was cold and breezy and when we arrived everywhere was white! Within an hour the sun and wind had turned it into a perfect day; Dry, clear plus it was cold for the turbo cars. The track dried really quickly and the slippy start disappeared.

It was one of them days when you remember why you spend silly money for a few hours of play time.

being a bit modest there Simon eh?. you appeared to be doing OK from what I saw, compared to me slipping and skidding around trying to keep up with you :)
