The outer rubber is just a protective coating for the steel cords and the inner lining for the tyre and offers no structural support.

IF (which based on the pictures seems to be a "yes") you can see either the inner layer OR one or more of the steel cords then it is in an instant MOT failure and the tyre is considered to be wrecked.

IF on the other hand the inner structure can not be seen when peeling the rubber back then there is unlikely to be any structural damage so you can glue it back into position.
Thanks, very helpful

So... For all of you waiting with baited breath, hotly anticipating the next instalment in this saga, here is what went down:

The wheel went to Lepsons, and my oh my, what a fantastic service and a great organisation to work with, i cant recommend them enough. They picked up the wheel with their courier, and had it back to me within 7 days

I ordered a new PZero (i know) that went direct to Lepsons and they fitted it.

I had the car checked out with a hunter wheel alignment place and turns out i just needed a tweak on the fronts

All in all and about 300 quid later an expensive lesson has been learnt!

Just fitted a P zero to mine and the p zero font is in a white/ grey colour... Very odd.

Did u get a p zero Russo A0? ( the Audi one) or a different one? Ill post up a picture of the refurbed wheel and new tyre over the weekend mate, no problem

What I will say though is that I think i will find it difficult to find the repair. It looks mint, only minor gripe is that colour matching my new wheel to the existing isnt perfect, but its good enough without doing all 4. Now I've seen Lepsons work though next time ill just get the lot done in darker, meaner shade to go with my phantom black
