I can't see facelift landing this year. If it's down to demand, could be a while?

That's odd. Got to have some control otherwise they'd be ordering cars for every tyre kicker that walked in!

I did have to put a grand down as deposit before they ordered the car. Had to pop in about a week later to finalise my options and had the finance check run.

I did apparently get an existing build slot that still had availability to change options though, so maybe that's where the difference is?

Thanks chesterfield fingers crossed bud. And yeah they have my old V10 which was sold within a day or 2 as deposit. It wouldn't be all doom and gloom if i wasnt bothered about the favelift but from what ive seen on the s7/RS7 i think the pre facelift looks much better IMHO.

I know of a few unregistrered brand new pre-facelift RS 6's around I can get my hands on.

Will get you a car no problem, just need to get the funding sorted, stick at them!

ordered on 2nd August .. was told would have info on build date "within two weeks" ..

email from dealer when asked if they have a build date today was

"Not as yet.
I have chased specifically about the colour and am awaiting an answer from the factory.
I'll let you know as soon as I get a response!"

G davison hahha i need to tell myself that aswell. And yeah i was going pretty exclusive on the car but good to know something to fall back on sales lady should i say is away till 18th just received a auto response email. So head of business it is lets see what he can do.

Just got off the phone to the stealers. Car hasn't been ordered but he did say they said its only for a few weeks they said something to do with the gearbox ??? As its that and the a6 ultra line can't keep up with the demand. And he said gives me a bit more time to sort the finance etc out. But he did say should be good to go in a few weeks which kinda makes sense as I know the facelift was not due to late 2015.

Facelift may not be due to arrive until early 2015, but I thought that would be physical cars? They would need to close the order book on current cars in order to have time to announce the facelift and then have the factory switch over to building the facelift. Ive heard elsewhere the demand for the A6 is strong, so it may be that they are taking the opportunity to get the facelift out, tweak the prices and make a little bit more out of that strong demand?

I may have a solution for someone. As has been said elsewhere what has been driven cannot been undriven and the 991 beetle is luring me. Car due mid Oct, and I'm sat on fence with splinters.

My Update ... My Car was "connected" to a RS6 that had been ordered by Basingstoke in April, but never sold, so never spec'd and therefore never given a build date .. The current "closed book" seems to cover any RS6 order taken that has no factory provided build date .. So any order without a build date is considered not an order .. Basingstoke inform me that Audi uk have a number of "corner case orders" such as mine and are trying to get a ruling from Germany. I was promised an update towards the end of next week .. I am not holding my breath

Finance is a lot harder to get nowadays & basically it's unsecured lending on an £85k car so even with a big deposit, VWFS are unsecured for the balance.

Can be many reasons why you get declined outside of the obvious ones. If your current ride is still on finance & not with the same lender then that will go against you as will look like a lot of borrowing.

I'd be highly surprised if any Dealer would give you a reason of Finance declined to cover up any other reason for not proceeding with the order such as order book closed as it's easy to check up & on a decline decision the lender HAS to provide you with the details of the Credit Reference Agency used.

Fingers crossed the underwriters have promised a reply by Friday explaining what the problem etc is. And that car is lovely I'm sure someone will give a arm and a leg for that thing. But I was going exclusive otherwise would have just took a demo, hopefully something daft tbh and can be sorted like I said 50% in my favour and have never missed a payment etc only thing I can think of is paperwork proof as was needed for the Merc but they sorted that within a day this has been 2 weeks or so. But as mentioned I'm giving them till Friday. It must be some sort of problem with Audi as I know I can have a Merc even checked with them they're trying to sell me a S63 or E but I don't want one. Well have to wait and see once again guys thanks for the help and tips wish the finance team was as helpful like I said if this was Merc they did within a day or 2 paperwork shown to manager etc.
