Mark Webber at Porsche - Is it working ??

Post by gdavison » Thu Jul 31, 2014 7:21 pm

Never really followed Webber whilst he was in F1, however now he is driving for Porsche in WEC I got to wondering .. At Le Mans, Porsche made a huge thing about him driving and to be honest I felt his drives where lackluster compared to some of the Audi drivers or indeed some of the "lesser" named Porsche drivers.

Porsche continue to throw out marketing with Webber involved

such as

etc

So ..... Are Porsche focusing too much on his name versus IMO he's not delivering on track for them ?

Went to see the WEC at Silverstone and he was definitely the pin up boy or the face of WEC.The pit lane walkbout was mobbed by the Porsche garage leaving the other teams wondering why they even bothered to practice their signatures. ..... plus he must bring in a lot of financial backing plus he can also drive a bit.

He's always been an 'almost, but not quite'.

I've never seen him destroy the field in anything - he's just a good, consistent runner up.

I like him though, seems like a nice fella and takes loosing very well!

Yeah thats where My heads at .. presentable "fella... but ......"

To be honest at Le Mans i thought Timo did a way better drive for Porsche
