^ Ian, did you have a resonated system before and just swap out the centre pipes available from Milltek? And did you find any drown as a result?

Looks great in Dolphin Grey BTW.

Yeah I bought the car with a resonated cat back Milltek in place, then swapped to Milltek straight-through non-res centre pipes. Yes its loud but I love it. I don't find any issues with any drone, but some people might find it too much

I also have non-res cat back milltek and tbh there is a drone at 1800-2000 rpm but you kinda drive round it. Sounds incredible on full chat though.

Just to keep this updated really...

VIM done and raspberry pi fully installed. One 256gb usb stick syncs automatically with my home media servers film list so every time there's an update (I download something) at home the car gets a copy. I now have it setup for dual wifi, so if it's in the garage it can connect to my home wifi, but if the car's out and about, it connects to my phones hotspot. So now I can stream iplayer etc wherever I am - very handy when I'm waiting in the car for the wife!

I broke the windscreen last week (schoolboy error and my own fault fitting the wiring for the pi of all things!) so that's been replaced yesterday - wow, what a transformation! Wish I'd broken it sooner. I hadn't realised the road rash on the screen was quite so bad as it was. Anyway - £75 through tesco insurance and I'm a happy bunny :)

Car now fully serviced as of Friday - I supplied all my own parts as could source cheaper and spread out the cost, and Hitchin Audi did the service and also the damaged CV boot. I had them fit the new discs and pads at the same time as they were half way there whilst doing the CV boot. A very reasonable £60 was charged for fitting the discs and pads in addition to £240 for the service, and £200 for the cv boot.

Car is transformed after the service - pulls strongly now, more than before, and seems really smooth. Seems it approves of the new plugs and oil!

Anyway - that's it for now!

£60 labour to fit discs and pads is amazing! From memory their retail price is 120+vat and hour, discounted to 80+vat on older cars if you ask nicely. So you did even better than that, no doubt helped by the fact you were in for service + CV boot. Hitchin helped me out big time when my battery went flat and the car would start the night before I was due to drop it with them for service. Very impressed

First step to Audi for me

Wheels refurb'd and wheel spacers (8mm all round) fitted.

Window tints tomorrow.

Next up, black optics. I'm getting a quote in Friday for a front end respray so will have them quote for spraying the trim and grille too.

All go here!

Well, a few updates again :)

Fitted a revolution induction the other day. The positive is the noise is unreal - having never heard one I wasn't in a hurry to get one, but now I have one I wish I'd got one sooner. It drowns out my milltek which was already loud. Now sounds staggering. I totally don't care that it's probably costing me power (fix coming soon read on!). It's completely worth it and if you're sitting on the fence, don't. Buy one - now! The downside is it's thrown a MIL because of the MAF. Doug at MRC said this is common, and the "fix" if to fiddle with the MAF housing. Not ideal, but I'll get it sorted hopefully. Worst case, Doug will sort it.

Argon Creative and I have had a bit of a set to (I've another thread on that) about their service (or lack of). I'm hoping that they've not taken my £1300+ and done a runner - they promise they haven't but ... no products have arrived in the last month so ... we'll see. Still waiting on my promised partial refund too...

Dectane lights have been returned due to poor fitting - they've offered a full refund so I'm waiting on that too.

I've sprayed the front grille body colour and again - wished I'd done it sooner. Really pleased with how much it's transformed the car.

Moving forward, I happened to be up by Banbury today, so thought it' be rude not to pop in the MRC. I've previously had work done at AmD but MRC are actualyl closer - I've just been a bit frightened of the bill size at MRC! Anyway, I popped in, described a few niggles I had and Doug well and truly looked after me. It's booked in this coming week for an Aux rad delete and cold air feed, bumper realignment (since I never got it right after the removal last time!), 4 wheel alignment, suspension check of bushes etc (as I think I've a droplink or ARB knocking somewhere...), a gearbox and rear diff oil change, investigation of the brake judder (even with my new discs and pads it's still suffering so I suspect hub surface or something horrible going on...) dyno run and health check and a few other little odd and sods. Doug also said he'd fix the MAF issue if I haven't sorted that by then (but he gave me some tips so I'll give it a try tonight).

Hopefully will come out far happier than it went in anyway :)

That's about all the updates I've got for now really - next big event is the 'ring trip 14th August - my first trip in something other than a 500bhp/ton tin can so although won't be "as quick" at least I'll have mod-cons like aircon on the trip!

Thanks for reading :)

Car's been at MRC all week and I'm not impressed... with the previous owner. Was a LOT that needed doing (despite the cars full service history) - but I guess that comes with the miles so can't entirely blame the last owner as much a I want to. I guess not everyone has the same standards as me.

Anyway, done this week:

4 new upper suspension arms, a new complete strut, a cold air feed, aux rad delete, carbon clean (again...), new MAF, deflapped manifold, new gearbox and diff oil, two new track rods, a 4 wheel alignment, and (pending a call back from Ben later today) a remap.

Interesting to note the car made 441ps on AmD's dyno two months ago.

Nothing changed except the addition of a revolution intake and the car made 398ps on MRC's dyno this week (before work).

Ross, what did MRC map this to before they fiddled with Carbon clean and Map?

I don't know - I've only had the "before" all work done "health check" dyno run done at MRC so far (the 398ps figure) - I think Doug is doing the mapping this afternoon now it's complete.

Ah, sorry Ross, that's what I meant. I realised I used the word 'map' in the wrong context initially. I meant the MRC Health check dyno as a delta. So in 8 weeks you are down by 43ps if AMD 'had' 441 on the dyno looking at your signature...

Yes this.

AmD told me the car was mapped already (AmD didn't remap the car) and after their carbon clean and vac fixes it was dyno'd at 441ps. However, doug told me that there was no full power in 1st-3rd which would indicate a standard map. He also said the car had had several "attempted maps" vs "actual" maps (I know not what I speak of here, just what I think Doug said!) so it's all very strange. I can say it was derestricted before as I've had some very high speed runs out of it.

If I'm being honest, I'm not convinced it ever made 441ps regardless of if I have a print out to say it did. God knows whos tried to fiddle with this car in the past! :piss:

I've just spoken to Ben @ MRC now and he's said everything is done except the remap now and Doug is doing that in a minute. So you never know, I might have some more news later this evening :) Good news that is - finally!

OK, that's a clear picture. At least herein you know that the past is the past and you have sorted pretty much everything. Key thing is, it's in the right place to get sorted. With a correct Carbon Clean and the MRC Se 2, I know you drive home will be very different...

Fair play Ross for going through the car and sorting it correctly and getting up to speed - so to speak...
