500 bhp?

Post by Noyjatat » Mon Jul 28, 2014 11:25 pm

Seen that MRC now has a front banner on their site showing they have broken 500 bhp. I did put a message on their page on here to try and find out the list of mods required and advised to achieve this but am yet to hear back. Be interested to hear from Saint400 or any others who know the answer to this question and highlight what is a must and what is optional.

Many thanks

Gareth.

Manual Gearbox
Shell Superunleaded 99
MRC Stage 2 (software and hardware incl pulley and belt)

Thats all you need! Will touch 500 with factory air intake, filter, exhaust and cats

S tronic will make same power with gearbox remap. The autos change up earlier unless mapped to make them hold the gears as far as a manual cars redline

I've been looking into this a little lately, spoke to Ben at MRC and it's around £1800 for the Stage 2 package and S-Tronic gearbox remap.

I saw the one listed on Autotrader and have noticed a lot of cars are in the 480's, others touching 500. Was interested to learn if this was just an individual car thing or an extra tweak/mod.

Fuel makes a big difference, the highest stage 1s I've seen are all manuals and all run on 99 Octane

Great thanks for the info guys. I know Doug always told me to put Tesco 99 in my old RS4.

Time to start shopping around I guess. Thanks for the info guys much appreciated. Next I need to look into 20" wheels for one :D

Actually that does look nice - OEM style. However with the state of the roads in the UK unfortunately, I'd want a bit more sidewall than that!

Have a look at S6s on the Audi approved site - half 19s half 20s - there's a massive difference in sidewall heights

Nick has 20s on his widebody S4 doesn't he? Speak to him if you're worried about ride quality. I'd defo be looking at 20s if it was me.

If you go the next tyre width up ie 255 to 265 but keep the same profile you will actually be getting the same amount of rubber and ride quality. Speedo error will be minimal. I have 265/30/20 instead of 255/30/20 so same height of rubber as 255/35/19 which means the same ride quality with my 20s as OEM 19s.

Will they fit though Mike? Don't forget the S4 won't have your arches!

You can get 20s on the S5, but don't forget the B8 S5 is actually wider in the wings than the B8 RS4
