time between build week and delivery

What are peoples experiences of the time between build week and delivery?

Ive been advised build week 38, but delivery late October to early November?

Build week 38 seems to be mid September. Would it really take six to eight weeks to arrive after then? What have other people experienced?

Many thanks for any insights. As you can tell Im not desperate to start enjoying this car since ordering

Crikey thats a slow boat. I guess they fill up a load before shipping over en mass rather than sending a transporter at a time.

Fits in with my requirements at home I guess as currently having some building work done involving demolishing and rebuilding the garage, so if it arrived early I wouldnt have a home for it other than on the drive for a while, so as much as Id like it tomorrow, it would be better late October anyway being realistic.

Of course if the garage is finished next month, Ill be back to impatient again!

You wont need a garage, you will be out playing in it. Had mine 5 weeks now, and done 4000 miles !!!!
The family really like it as well, Kids dont have to ask for lifts anywhere, I offer. Wife doesnt have to ask me to take stuff to local tip, or do errends, I just do it. The only part of the family that dont enjoy the RS6 are the dogs. They will jump into the Land Rover if door is open, they will jump into the Skoda estate if door left open, they will even get into the BMW 6 convertable if door or roof left open...... But after one bad experience in the Audi, they wont go anywhere near it, unless its to piss on the wheels.
I hope the novelty will wear off soon..I dont really want to put 40k miles on it in first year

I'm build week 36 and salesman thinks end September.
Bought two factory order cars from them before and they are pretty much spot on with their estimated dates (actually coming in a couple of days early each time).

I've found it can depend on a number of factors including how far away your dealer is from the port. Which dealer are you using? Mine was build week 4 w/c 27/01/2014 and it arrived at the dealers on 17th February 2014. My dealer is only 35 miles from the port which I think helps

i'm still waiting on a build week... ordered on mar31st. Fecking depressing waiting all this time.

Knowing my luck, it'll be the last one off the line prior to the face lift versions.

Crikey, I would have thought you would at least have a build week by now! I was given the build week within a week or so of ordering. Surely your dealer must have this by no?

Going by the responses above and other discussions about wait time, if you ordered end of march, it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect your car this month or early next.

My build week is about 10 weeks after my order date last week, so by that count your car should be built and awaiting shipping??

Think it's a case of order has 'ramics, exclusive paint and wouldn't be surprised if the dealer sold more than their allocation. Had budgeted on a 6m wait but looking to be a bit longer now.

Heard there was a delay with ceramics, and I guess exclusive paint will mean a scheduled switch out of the standard paint vats that will be piped up to the robots, so can understand the delay now.

Anyway, build week should still have been confirmed I think, or at least estimated, regardless of options, you would expect that it might just be pushed out further to the right than a non exclusive order.
My build week was confirmed within two days.
I'd be pushing your dealer, some work hard for you others don't.

After all my hope yesterday, I was in at my dealership today (getting a run in their demo R8 for a couple of days) and my build week has slipped to week 38.

Well I had a build week in July and mine eventually arrived on the 2nd Jan

spoke to the dealer on my order today - change of salesman should help the flow of info, but we shall see.... - but the delay is the lack of cermaic brakes.

Been told that the back log is causing quite lengthy delays (wasn't clear if that is just on C7 or across all models), but they are expecting things to improve within the next couple of weeks. Should be getting a build slot allocated then.

sounds like Audi need to speak to Apple about making their supply chain a bit swifter.

For years I was a die-hard BMW fan (E30 M3, E36 M3, E46 M3, Z4 M, several 5-series, X5 4.4...) and I even had a Porsche for a while (996 4S Coupé 2004), but as I wanted practical year-round performance coupled with 4WD (for Swedish conditions), I decided to try Audi and now consider myself a die-hard Audi fan instead . My first Audi was an S4 Avant 2007, followed by an RS4 Avant 2008 and my current daily driver is an S6 Avant 2007. My plan is to keep the S6 as well (love that smooth V10!), but my current hobby car (an M3 Coupé SMG2 2005) I have now decided to put up for sale -- it's an absolutely fantastic driver's car but will soon seem a bit superfluous...

The most powerful street car I've ever driven was a friend's RS6 Avant (C6) with MTM stage III (730 hp), which was ridiculously fast, but an extended test drive in the new RS6 earlier this year provided me with the exact same sensation -- that of insane acceleration that it is hard to comprehend coming from such a heavy car! And even more impressive was how well it manages to disguise its weight -- on a twisty country road it felt immensely more agile and communicative than its predecessor, and I'm certain this will be the best car I've ever had (at least it will be by far the most expensive...).

Anyway, six weeks from order to build and five weeks from build to delivery should be pretty reasonable, yes?
