In need of advise (VAG-COM)

Post by Shaners4 » Mon May 26, 2014 5:23 pm

Right before you tell me to search the forum I have but theres 577 pages and I am not going to go through them all :bash: I've read up a lot about VAG-COM and everytime I post someone seems to mention it in a comment so here goes.

I dont actually own a VAG-COM tool (lead) or software so I would like to purchase this as I have a few issues with my car and I would like to read the codes.
Could someone please point me in the right direction and where I can purchase the right lead and software from? I've looked at the ross-tech site and theres lots of different options on what to buy and I'm easily getting confused.

Any help will be much appreciated

Agree that Gendan is probably your best bet, but you can get is slightly cheaper from Ross-Tech US

Currently $407 delivered (about £243) and it comes very quickly - plus for customs declaration they only value the lead (which is negligible) as the vast majority of the price supports the free-to-download software

Not a huge difference (especially with any foreign transaction fees) so the exchange rate must have been more in my favour when I did it...

I got mine direct from Ross-Tech too, second the comment about the Customs declaration.

The Dollar is only £0.59 at the moment, so it's a good exchange rate (I got some great bargains earlier this month when we were staying with family near Boston).
