Hey gents -
American boy here, headed to Scotland for the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in late September. It's a large group of us(24), and we're making a trip of it, hitting I think 8 courses before/after the Cup. We start at the Fairmont St. Andrews and then head from there.
We're playing a few classic courses (St. Andrews Old Course, Muirfield, Carnoustie, Kingsbarns to name a few).
Pretty excited as I've never been to Europe or the UK, or spent any time in that part of the world for that matter.
A few questions:
What's the weather like this time of year?
Any MUST SEE's/Do's while we're in Scotland? Obviously, we'll be playing a ton of golf and won't have a lot of down time, but I thought I better ask.
Headed to Scotland for Ryder Cup
Re: Headed to Scotland for Ryder Cup
Weathers temperamental 365 days a year we can have sunshine and January and snow in July! Just come prepared for all weather. The places your playing golf will allow you to see a lot of Scotland, you'll love it. For all it's downfalls it really is a beautiful country with some of the best scenery you will ever see

Edinburgh's well worth a look. Just up the road from Muirfield.
