Cheers Neil, a full MRC stage 2 and carbon clean are planned, but looks like next year at the mo as the Better half is expecting our second in July so funds will have to be diverted to the family instead of the carneilparf wrote:Nick - as adsgreen mentions, that's not possible with VCDS. MRC stage 2 map addressed this for me - that's their cold/quiet start mode. It starts and drops to normal revs within 2-3 seconds...

Nick - the MRC map especially in sport is epic. It'll be worth the wait.

Oh I've been there! STOP at two - after that it's people carriers! You'll be creeping out of that driveway come July - no valve open for you or you'll wake number two

I'm looking forward to the whole MRC experience. Should be interesting as our exhausts do sound quite tasty on MRC's rollers, especially after hearing several Miltek systems there is a noticeable difference, and yes I'm being biased but ours are the better IMO yet each to there own.

Feck the peep carrier - RS6 a wiser choice!
I'm gutted I missed mine on the rollers at MRC - Doug did mine on the Saturday I travelled home - had I'dve known I would have hung around!
Agreed - I think the JCWF system is possibly one of the best out there all round - IMHO of course...

So many exhaust threads on here that I would of hoped an answer to my conundrum would be solved. Anyone imported the JBS system to the uk? And any thoughts? JCWeldfabs looking good for now
I've stopped at 2 as well, but it's like living in a tom and jerry cartoon. Maybe a third could act as a referee of some sort. Proper fist fights, 12yo girl brown belt TKD and a 7yo lunatic lad with no fear! Best of friends then BOOOM!

Performance as well as noise? Aye exhaust not kids, who can put on a performance with more noise than a V8. looking for a performance system with not 'too' much noise. Mill trek seem to be about the noise, JCWeldfab seem to be about quality, from what I read.

Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
For the money, JCWF is noise and quality. Its valved so best of both worlds. Bin the pre cats and it's an instant improvement which I'm sure you know...

Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
If you want performance without the noise - loose the 400 cel pre cats in the down pipes and leave your standard exhaust behind with the standard Audi cats - that combined with a decent air filter / decoke (if needed) and MRC tune will yield a worthy increase
Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
Yep 'I'm first' causes a fight going out the door thinking first out sits in the front......they race to the the RS I walk calmly to the S3 across the road and let them carry on the fight. Normally got it started and in reverse before they get in.neilparf wrote:Sonny jim - look no further - the JC weld fab rocks, truly.Sonnyjim wrote:So many exhaust threads on here that I would of hoped an answer to my conundrum would be solved. Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
I think there was a mention on an older thread where someone was in the process of ordering a JBS system, I could be completely wrong though. Recently had a gander over on the B8 page and they have an Akropovic system for £5k which doesn't look to bad, but feck me £5k for an exhaustSonnyjim wrote:So many exhaust threads on here that I would of hoped an answer to my conundrum would be solved. As Neil has said the JCWF system is fantastic, and having searched for 2 months and researched as much as I can it is IMO the best £ for £ system you can get in this country, and it's British.
I have a 2 year old who knows no fear and is as cheeky as they come, hopefully the second will calm him down a little, or it could be all out pandemonium. On a good note though the main reason I got the RS4 was it makes a very practical family car (that's what I told the wife anyway)

Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
Both are good systems, I know youngben on this forum is selling his scorpion system (he's selling his car so reverting back to standard) it was the cost that put me off, I think the scorpion is on a par money wise with Miltek, if your going with just a cat back system then either system would be fine. The AWE system is nice but by the time you've imported it and paid duty on it then paid to have it fitted it turns out to be expensive, but they say it's bespoke and hand made which is good but it's not made to fit your car, and here's what made the JCWF system that much more tempting, it is custom hand made to fit your car, they will not let it out of their unit unless it is bang on. The main reason I went with a JCWF system was because the previous owner had a cheapo stainless system fitted without cats, sounded quite nice (loud) also no valves this subsequently failed the mot, so when you add up the cost of a milltek or scorpion including sports cats your looking at the best part of £3k +vat + Fitting.
I think if I'd have had cats in then I would have tried a Miltek system or scorpion. I don't think there is much to gain in performance from most systems unless the can be incorporated into a decent re-map.
It's all down to personal taste.
