Re: Schoolboy dreams - F40!
I was a massive Ferrari fan until I worked for a Ferrari dealership (detailing). Fat horrible cars! I thought they were like the prancing horse, thoroughbred racers but no, they are devices for old men to pick up young chicks! Example, F355 I was detailing, removed the driver seat and it took all my strength to lift it out (I'm 6'4" and 15 stone at the time). For me, a Ferrari should not be like that!
Except the F40. The last car Enzo signed off on and I think that is quite fitting. Of course they drive amazing but was a silly thing that impressed me the most. F40 in the showroom and I gently leant against the rear wing, the F40 started to roll!
No driver aids, no excess, no radio, you can see the carbon weave through the paint as its such a thin coat, no messing about, amazing engine that is all old skool lag and power with little weight for it to pull along. Wonderful!
I would've preferred it not have green bathroom sealant on the inside joins but nothing is perfect

I only live a stones throw away from Dick Lovett, so I often see ferrari super cars cruising around on test drives. The f40's still the one with the most presence even all these years on. One of them blasting into your rear view mirror still sends a shiver down my spine
Not much can touch the sound of an Enzo hitting the dual carriageway though
