Has anyone any experience of Revo serial tuning with an RS6?

Comments welcome!

Martyn, we're currently (read: there's an RS6 in the workshop at present) working on transmission software to go alongside our performance software. As you are probably aware the gearboxes aren't always the smoothest with a standard car. We've experienced a couple of problems with the gearbox 'jumping' and 'clunking' with software on the car. Until we've completed a flashable Tip chip we have pulled the RS6 ECU software. As I say this is being worked on at the moment, so it shouldn't be that long!

Heheheh must've been my car Kev?

Yep, it's great and I can vouch for the fact that the gearbox is now sorted :biggrin2:

Hi Dave,
IMHO it's a very good upgrade.
Just to remind myself, I put the car back into stock mode the other day and drove it for an afternoon, then back into performance.
I was beginning to get used to driving the car as it was and was almost thinking there was really not that much difference...but believe me there is!
Masses more mid-range grunt, the accelleration really is impressive from any revs in any gear.
I tend to drive my car in tip mode most of the time when "pressing on" as there are still a few hunts and shunts that will occur with the box in full auto, it's down to the massive torque increases I think.
In sport mode it's fine but that's hardly and "everday" mode is it?
Driving "normally" in full auto it's absolutely fine.

I love the fact that I can switch back to stock and that the dealer cannot "see" the coding, great for warranty :sekret:

You know REVO will let you try the software before you buy?
They will load it and it then swithces itself out again after a set period.
Try that with AMD's soldered chip :bash:
Not that I'm saying the AMD upgrade isn't good, I've driven one and it is very good, but once it's done your warranty is potentially :piss:

Alan
Having been waiting for the release of the new RS4, I have come to the conclusion that I'm fed up with the waiting and soon to be old enough to own an RS6 instead (40 next month  ).
As a result, a good friend kindly lent me an RS6 avant for the weekend in which we had 500 ish fab miles. My only criticism is that following traffic at 30 - 40 mph the gearbox insists on changing down which then adds engine braking - there does not appear to be any coasting.
Does the tip chip improve this at all or is it something I should live with?
Look forward to hearing on this.

Yes, the gearbox re-map works very well with the engine re-map & irons out some of the strange gearbox actions prior to re-map.

Can't speak for the REVO, as i have the AmD Stage 2, but i guess the results will be fairly similar.

Basically the gearbox re-map moves the changes up the rev range slightly (by around 200rpm I think).
As Paul says, it does remove some of the quirky gearbox behaviour but not all of it!

From that website, you can't get to details for an RS6 upgrade!
