Where to buy Rotors to fit 380mm MoVit/Brembo/GT2
Where to buy Rotors to fit 380mm MoVit/Brembo/GT2
Hi,
I need to buy new rotors for my 380mm MoVit/Brembo/GT2 front brakes on my RS4.
The rotors need to fit the Movit Bells that have 10 holes (I beleive the later Movit kit bells had 12 holes?)
Can anyone recommend where I can order the rotors from via Mail Order or Collect (I am based near Reading)
Cheers,
Andy

I think you should speak to Movit in Germany...pretty sure you need to ensure that the bells are correctly matched up to the new rotors.

JohnW has a contact in Belgium for porsche parts etc. He stopped on the way back from Spa to pick up pads as i recall. I think he may have even posted the details of the company up just recently. perhaps check johns recent posts to find it.

Andy, they are MK1 GT3 disks I believe. Later GT3 and GT2 disks are different.
I have the boxes at home which my bells came in when I brought them from the previous owner - Porsche boxes.
You could try contacting Gert at www.carnewal.com. He might be able to do you a good deal.
Gert is cheaper than most places if you can collect. I therefore normally arrange to pay him a visit on one of my trips to pick stuff up. Otherwise some of the other uk suppliers are a similar price and more convenient.
Trouble is these things are heavy, so you might find the likes of design911 would be able to supply them just as cheaply in the uk if you were to pick them up rather than pay postage.
IMO the safest bet is to try Guido first, but also get prices from Porsche UK etc just for comparison.
Cheers,
John.

Thanks for the replies.
The car is currently with Ray West. He has contacted Porsche on my bahalf today and from the measurments he supplied it appears the rotors are 993 GT2 Motorpsort (there are four types apparently, these are the 'Motorsport' variety). These need to be ordered from Germany as there are none in the UK dealer network.
Fingers crossed these are indeed the right ones.
I contacted Wolfgang at Movit, he said email the model bell hat number and send a picture of the rotors to him. I'll do that if I have any further issue.
It seems locating replacement rotors for some of thse Porsche related brake kits is a bit of a black art.

your right about it being a bit of a black art.
Gert told me when I was ordering my last set of pads that some porsche track pads are now in the motorsport list too, which means they sell them PER PAD. Yep, not per set, or per side, but EACH !
Add to that the new price. 50 quid each !!
I went for the fast road ones and brought Movit track pads from Kim (which came out almost the same price as the porker ones in the end).
I have given gert an email to see what he comes up with.

Andy,
Do you have prices for them from Ray West or Movit ?
have you ordered any of these yet ?
If not, I have a response from Gert with prices.
I will not post the price here as I do not thinik it is right to do so (what with all the hassle recently over people advertising).
I will send you a pm with the price Gert quoted me. If you want to know more feel free to contact him directly. Just say it is with reference to the 380mm GT2 disks he has been discussing with 'JohnW'.
I'm not going to be able to check posts for the next few days, but would love to hear how you get on.
Cheers,
John.

Not really a hassle, just trying to get some funds together for a new server, meets, track days, merchandise, etc.... The site has sufficient critical mass to enable it to be run out of its own pockets now, instead of ours.what with all the hassle recently over people advertising

Thanks for the information.
I need to confirm if Ray has managed to order the Rotors from Porsche Germany and how much they will cost (although I would have thought they will be more than Gert's price that you supplied John).
The price I have been given in £ by QST for Movit rotors almost exactly matches the price you supplied John in Euros if they're ordered from Gert.

My advice Ryan would be to buy a copy of 911 & Porsche world, and go through the various adverts.
Some names that spring to mind are Parr, design911, and of course Carnewal whose details I've posted above.
I buy all my stuff from eother AFN at Guildford (if in a hurry), or Gert at Carnewal.
