Matt paint colors

Post by amanda1 » Tue Apr 08, 2014 11:03 am

Am sat at my dealers waiting for the 6 to have some work done and spotted this!
Whilst it looks ok I am not sure about Matt paint finishes..I don't think I would have a car in this finish.

I get the impression Audi are trying to push it hard... Dropped my car off for a service this morning and saw these - about £325k of car. Think it's brave of them to leave the RS 6&7 outside given the issues of bird poop etc...

They do look good - and so they should to be fair: for the rs6 paint £6k, wheels £2k, wing mirrors £1.5k, carbon pack £4k!

Bit like the old one night stand vs girlfriend list that most chaps have - a quick fling and moment of carefree enjoyment vs living with it day-to-day..... You'd enjoy the car for about 2weeks in the summer, the rest of the time it would be a pain in the ass and you'd be better off with normal paint and a wrap (and keep the best part of £4-5k over the Matt factory option)

I think looks epic, maintenance aside, I would love it

Wonder what Matt red and carbon would look like

I agree, maintenance (and cost) aside, great looking colour.

That RS7 looks like it has the front arches from a tdi though, not like an RS at all. It just looks a bit wimpy next to the RS6.

Similar appearance to this that I saw at the weekend... although this was a wrap:

Was in two minds, but it did quickly grow on me.

I'd like it, but only on a very occasional car
Living with it day to day would be a nightmare as you've got to avoid loads of things like bird pooh, and cleaners with a hint of wax or polish
I understand from a mate who's got a matt f10 M5 edition that if you scratch it, it's almost a full red spray as it's nigh on impossible to rematch paint

That 458 looks lovely though

You'd hope a wrap would be less susceptible to guano and the like, but have no real experience of either, as yet.
