Yeah, no I didn't mean to imply the engine is a Lambo, but derived...
I think in terms of numbers C7s will certainly be higher.
I seem to remember reading somewhere at some stage that approx:2700 C6s were built worldwide
(*Quick look on Wiki suggests it was total prod. run of 8,000. I have no argument against this). Whether or not that included the 'plus'' I'm not sure, even so a low production number. I imagine the number has dropped somewhat over the years!
As Chris said the C6 could not have been timed more unfortunately. With the recession people held back. A friend of mine used to work at Audi UK. He told me the reason for the 2G MMI system being incorporated so much longer after the 3G system came out on the C6 was due more to cancelled orders than any other reason. I'm yet to be convinced on that as that would be a huge number of deposits lost to have 2G running through 9 months (I think) after the 3G system was rolled out.
Again the excess lowered numbers as well...
In 2005/2006 EVERYONE who lived in my locality of Fulham (and tbf all of south west London) had a Range Rover. Then the govt started the anti-emissions campaigns and a mere couple of years later all thing guzzling were looked upon as the devils spawn. UK society had changed and I don't think Germany had realised it.
Add those points to the fact that the first realisation of how severe the recession was going to be saw lenders clawing every penny back meant it wasn't so easy to get a lease on a car.
There are so many interesting points that relate to the C6 that the C7 simply doesn't have.
The C6 is to the C7 as the PS3 is to the PS4. The original broke the mould and was a game changer, the latter simply a bit more High Def version of the first.
