2005 S4 Exhaust

Post by fraz167 » Thu Mar 06, 2014 12:10 pm

Hi,

The exhaust on my 2005 S4 Tiptronic has just started blowing. It seems to be coming from one of the flexy pipes just before the cat on that side. At first i thought a spot weld would do it, but my local very reputible independant has told me that they can't weld on that flxy pipe (makes sense) and that the section including the cat needs replaced which would cost approxx £1000.

I havent been able to find any diagrams of the exhaust on the net to clarify the section that needs replaced.

Has anyone else on the forum came accross a similar issue and what the solution was.

Obviously concerned about replacing one section of the exhaust to then have another go, so i woud consider an upgrade exhaust but don't really know anything about performance exhausts.

Phew...chunky first post.

Cheers
Fraser

I think you can just get the flexi section cut out and a new one fitted.

Hi,

Got a set of 2005 S4 downpipes with cats for sale. Took them off at about 30K to fit custom downpipes.
Sent a PM, in case you're interested.

Regards, Chris.
