After having had PZeros and Vreds I think you're being harsh on the Vreds - they're not in the same league as Michelins or Goodyears, but IMHO they're better than the Pirellis.
I’m talking post 50% wear (maybe 60%)... they are bloody scary !!

Sorry to hear about your incident mate, it sounds fixable though.

Have a check on ebay/pistonheads/on here for a set of second wheels and get the car up on a ramp and have a good look around.

Might be worth checking the rear subframe as well as the suspension components first and if all looks ok then having a four wheel alignment check done.

The old Torbain Castle road gets a bit muddy at this time of year so I will be taking it a bit slower after reading the above.

Still think you're being harsh. I changed from Vreds in November when they were down to just over 2mm, and they were still way less scary than PZeros were when almost new (i.e. after being initially scrubbed in).

Sounds like you've been quite lucky! I'd borrow a set of straight rims and drive it to a specialist to have the suspension checked over. Just trying to picture the suspension, a damaged top link?

Bloody hell, you did well not to write it off then given the road! What corner did you lose it on?

If you are reading this Surf, this would be the 'bloody good road' you followed me down on the way to Crail!

Heading towards Kirkcaldy? In the dry I brake just as the sign post flashes past on the left. It has been muddy there for a while though as there is a opening to a field if I remember rightly. Likely the mud was frozen?

Dont think it was frozen but you never know. Thats where I normally brake too and did! As soon as I hit the brakes I got pulled towards the verge on the nearside. Its steep there too so couldve been a damn site worse! Had to fight it to get it back but got caught by the other side.. done well if is say so myself but... there was a huge crack came off both n/s wheels. Gonna have a run up there tonight in my old Audi think I hit one of them mile marker stones as both wheels on n/s have basically split it was that hard! Hope no other damage has been done.. just got the spacers off. A tech at my works suggested insurance after having a quick look so off i go on the phone.

Indeed, you did well not to roll it and you were also lucky not to hit another car coming the other way as that corner is blind.

I would have needed new underwear afterwards for sure!!!!

Chances are your tyres will need replacing as well.

On a positive, you don't need to worry about that wheel refurb and you should have one good wheel to use as a spare.

Find a big pot hole in your area, pull up and drive a damaged wheel in it, get out and take a photo's

Then get in touch with your council tell them whats happened, put it in writting and tell them your getting it repaired and are going to send them the bill

This helps off set the extra feul costs of driving round the ****** pots holes in an RS4!

Remove spacers beforehand, http://forum.rs246.com/posting.php?mode ... 5&t=108286#

That looks more like positive camber so something is bent.
