Grin Factor

Post by evojkp » Mon Jan 20, 2014 12:28 am

Like a few folks on this forum I work offshore and driving the S4 is not a daily occurrence, even when I'm home it usually remains in the garage and comes out now and again, but I do use it for the trek to Aberdeen when I go back to work.

I've been looking on PH and other sites to find a potential replacement, egged on by another member on here who has a B7 RS4 and like me always talks about changing.

....but, took out the S4 for a hoon earlier and I really don't think I could get anymore bang for my buck with anything else that would give me such a grin and when parked up would leave me with a buzz. Obviously a V8 RS of whatever variant would be stunning, but for sheer outright pace and noise my MRC tweaked motor would take some beating for the price all in.

I used to go for regular hoons years ago in my Evo's and Scoob's but think the S4 will need to be used that way as well.

Just thought I'd share. :biggrin3:

now looking at coil-overs and alcons rather than a new car :s4addict:

BOOM! Too right. B7 RS4? Pah :assflash: :thumb:

Take it the next level with Alcons and some proper coilovers, make it feel that little bit more special, and get out there and enjoy it.

No issues at all....famous last words

I don't do 'drop clutch' standing starts and although nearly 500hp I am quite mechanically sympathetic. I did have a concern that it would possibly start to slip as it is the weak link, as I've experienced clutch fails on evos and scoobs from being a total hoon.......

but so far all good
