What's the state of the contacts? If they're corroded you'll need to clean them.

You might be able to revive it by re-soldering the components on the PCB. I fixed a water damaged ECU like this.

The pins that the plugs plug in to look perfect and shiny. Can you actually open up the unit? Car is away from me at the moment but can't remember if it was a sealed unit.

Thanks again

I haven't tried on my RS6 but on my other Audis a single turn of the key in any door lock will only open that particular door/tailgate. They need a "double tap" to operate the central unlocking.

Doesn't help with your ECU problems I know, but hopefully does de-mystify the locking/unlocking system a little.

It does come apart quite easily, it's just plastic clips.

Okay whipped it back out today..I'm guessing there's not meant to be two gold coloured pins  :x I'll get a new box ordered but one last question, does this box also control the aircon to some degree? Aircon switches on and can things moving when you select demist/upper vents etc but no air at all blows out?

Cheers

You really need VCDS to check whether you have any problems with your HVAC. Could be flaps not moving/broken pentiometers or just rusty connections.
