Advice please. How's this for a new car discount???

Post by C17LJR » Sun Jan 19, 2014 8:15 pm

unfortunately not an RS!

Looking for a new Vw touran for the wife as an upgrade from her polo as our family is growing.

Had a shot of one for the weekend from the local dealers and was given details if I was to upgrade but was wondering what other options there was as it's a standard run of the mill bus.

Got a quote from orangewheels (that I'm going to follow up tomorrow) that came in about the same as the dealers after the Vw 'contribution, is there any other places I should be looking?

Thanks, Carl

Try Carwow, you basically put in the details of the car you want, including options etc.
Your requirements are then forwarded to franchised dealers who then come back to you with the best price.
Seems to work well we got a price back from a dealer in Liverpool then used the price to bargain with a local dealer.
Worth a try ,you have nothing to lose.

Thanks, I'll give that a bash tomorrow at work,

DK - is that after Vw contribution? If you take the the example today, the list price for the model we had for the weekend was ~£25k, however we were being offered it at £20k

That's great, thought as much. So I'll be looking for another 1500 quid.

Plus consider selling the polo private as I could prob get that much again extra

Thanks again

Okay, so after a few quotes on orangewheels I've ended up 'upgrading' to the sport model with the 2.0tdi engine, all in with some extras including upgraded stereo, paint and bi-xenons it's come in just 2k over what the original quote was (lower spec, engine, no options, basic paint)

List price is 28,271, offered at 21,907 so just shy of 6,400 saving. So 22% in total.

What's everyone's thoughts? Could I get it any cheaper?
