Our road surfaces are becoming third world quality

Post by scaghead » Sat Jan 18, 2014 9:39 pm

Presuming the state of the road surfaces are the same everywhere round the country as they are in essex..It is getting to the stage where your playing dodge the potholes all the time..and when you have low profiles it can be an expensive game...is getting to the stage where I am thinking of selling my rs because driving it as above is not enjoyable..

Agree also here in Bristol. I get so angry I want to punch something. I can just see the pound signs every time I hear a BANG. Even in comfort it is unbearable. I have thought sod this I'm selling many times just because of the roads.

Yep, my driving style is now slalom. The sunken man hole covers are particularly menacing.

Used to be a pain when living in suburbia, but now I kick it in the sticks, I just have to watch out for tractors.

Don't want to sell it fella, but the roads are in such a bad state can't see the point in having a nice motor tbh..the last eighteen months have been the worst as at least previous to that they used to repair (patch up)..but we have ones over here that some halfhead has been out and sprayed a colour spray round and it's been like that for a year..what's the point in paying someone to go round spraying around potholes FFS.. Like nickyboy says i end up wanting to punch something.. :drink:

Same up here in the North East - have a Discovery 2 that has 265/75/16 mud terrain tyres on built for offroad driving and even she feels the bumps/potholes :!:

I know the road fund licence is not used for the roads but come on Mr Conman, sorry Mr Cameron please spend some money on the roads as I pay RFL for a bike, a motorhome, the disco 2 and the current VW Passat soon to be an S6 Avant so you really are getting your pound of flesh from me

Same here in Somerset - it's not just the potholes but the quality of repairs is abysmal . . . holes are replaced by humps that are almost as bad
