Comfort entry I believe. So the steering wheel will raise when you turn the ignition off so you don't hit your knees on it when getting out. My C6 and 1995 A8 have it too! My C5 didn't, think it's only available with memory seats so an optional extra.

Electric adjustable steering column was a £345 option on 2003 models.Worked as 'Mr V10' described above. There wasn't an option for memory seats though ( surprisingly)in that years price and options list.

Yup. Concur. I have never, ever pressed this button. I didn't notice it for a couple of years and now I don't want to jinx myself by pressing it.

Edit **Wrong info, see my next post further down. Not deleted as the thread would read wrongly**

I've been thinking about this .
If i recall right, there IS a memory function for the seats and steering wheel position.
Its key dependant, so 2 people can use 2 different keys and the wheel and seats remember which key used which positions for seats and wheel.

Totally forgot all about it , as i only ever use the One remote.
Although a handy little 'toy' , I disabled mine when i was having battery problems last winter ( battery was knackered).

As Mr V10 said, its only available as an optional extra and DOES have a memory function.

EDIT - The correct info is in the following Two posts

No memory seats on the RS6 except the US, non-Recaro version.

Totally correct Shop  . I was thinking wrongly about what the two remote fobs did.

I just looked thru the manual , but cant find the bit i was after about 2 keys and 2 memories.

What the electric steering adjuster does do , is remember what position the wheel was in/at for each remote key. So the mrs can have the wheel set right forward and up , and when you get in with your remote ,it will go to what you set the wheel at . Just another gadget to go wrong though :audibash:
I knew it was something that remembered which key was used
