Thoughts on this one?

Post by DazN » Fri Jan 03, 2014 12:10 pm

Hi All,

Happy New Year!

The time has come for me to buy a car, I sold my RS4 a couple of years ago and have missed it ever since, then I sold my E90 M3 in August last year.

I'm in the market for an S4 and I want a plain (not two tone) interior, Drive Select, Sports Diff, HDD Nav and 19's, I have found one that ticks all those boxes (apart from HDD nav) but it's a 200 mile trip to get there.

Does anybody know this car:-

Thanks!!

I'd say HDD nav is a must have, it includes the jukebox and voice control input etc which is one of the most useful speech dialogue I've ever used, I actually used it to input sat nav as my preferred input method

I have considered another B7 but to be honest the M3 I had felt miles ahead in terms of comfort, technology, gearbox etc, etc, moving to a B7 would feel like a step back in time. The B8 seems to match the M3 with it being a lot more up-to-date, lower running costs, not slow and all round a very capable car.

My short list is:-
B8 S4 - but with the extras I want it seems impossible to find
F10 535D - seems like a very capable car but I've never got on with diesel's in the past, saying that though I haven't driven a 6 cylinder version with 2 turbo's
A6 Bi TDi - similar to the above but from all the reviews I'd read it gets pipped to the post by the BMW in almost all tests

Thats a lot for a 2011 '61' plate car. The dealer doesn't have to put any warranty on it becuase the car is still under factory Audi warranty so haggle hard! No doubt they have priced it high due to the tiny mileage. It doesn't mention service history - if it hasn't been to Audi for an oil change I wouldn't touch it, not least due to warranty complications with it being overdue (max interval of 24 months regardless of only 11,000 miles)
