Trust me, we made it past that. Durrrrrr! Sorry for the wind up but the replies are exactly as expected......LOL.D_K wrote:Its a lot lighter. So of course it will keep up...90ps deficit vs. 200kg lighter?? Durrrrrr!!
But above 100 the 8cylinders of the V8 will take you eventually
Thanks for patronising remarks. A4 out onto M4..... Plenty of stop starts at lights and then the drag onto the M4 as it goes into 3 lanes. So I think I'd call that a blast.psg001 wrote:what exactly do you mean by had a motorway blast? did you just chase one on the motorway, or did you have a few drag races against it? The B8 RS4 was tested out on pistonheads and with LC was doing 4.2 to 60 and sub 9.5 to 100 IRRC. thats pretty quick for the size of car.carsarecool wrote:Had a motorway blast with a B8 RS4 today....they aren't that quick. Had no issues keeping up in my boggo standard TTRS....don't believe the hype and remember there is nothing, nothing better than a B7 RS4
Changing my car in December....the RS4 was pegged as the natural choice but as it doesn't look that different, have the WOW factor and isn't as good as the B7....maybe time for a 911/981 Cayman.
Depends what you were doing in terms of testing performance but I'm not sure you can conclude that its not that fast if you were just following it at speed on the motorway.
...and your response lives up to the TTRS stereotype, well done!carsarecool wrote:Trust me, we made it past that. Durrrrrr! Sorry for the wind up but the replies are exactly as expected......LOL.D_K wrote:Its a lot lighter. So of course it will keep up...90ps deficit vs. 200kg lighter?? Durrrrrr!!

Don't be silly, you're more than welcome and next time, don't worry your pretty little head about saying thank you. We're always here to support and cherish your achievements, no matter how insignificant, now, go out and try to play with the 'big boy' V8 again.carsarecool wrote:Thanks for patronising remarks.
IIRC (but could be wrong) the TT is a haldex based 4wd affair so is largely front wheel drive with the ability to lock the clutch and send up to 50% of the power to the rear. Whilst a nice effective all round solution it's not the same as a permanent 4wd system with rear bias and the B8's advanced options like the torque vectoring and crown centre diff.Graeme4130 wrote:I've got a good friend with a TTRS and we've done a few drag races and comparisons with my B8 RS4
For what it's worth, both cars using LC, my B8 was faster off the line initially and pretty equal up to around 60-70 and then his car ran out of puff and I'd start to pull a bigger lead after that. In the tighter corners, the TT was faster and more agile, but in longer sweeping corners, my B8 could strangely generate a bit more grip (although this could be the 2k I had in my tyres and the 10k he had in his) and put the power down on exit a bit better
However, he had a stage 1 chip fitted to his TT and he can smoke me in a grab race now, fecker !
LOL, picking up FL RS5 next week........am I a man like you now? If you doubt that you've got a penis, then yes, you're correct, you're not a man.carsarecool wrote:.......am I a man like you now? I doubt it...P...E...N...I...S
Just seen this. I wouldn't necessarily call the jeering crowds "peers" but I get the point.bam_bam wrote:If you doubt that you've got a penis, then yes, you're correct, you're not a man.carsarecool wrote:.......am I a man like you now? I doubt it...P...E...N...I...S
Well done crumbling to the jeers of all of your peers and scurrying out to buy a V8 just to 'fit in'.
Bullied much in primary school, were you?
