New manifold
New manifold
EPC and emission control warning lights on, car in to Audi, manifold flaps sticking due to carbon build up, Audi say 'New manifold required, £2200'!!!

Re: New manifold
Sadly I think you will find the manifold problem is due to worn actuator shafts and you will still need to be shafted for a new manifold
Re: New manifold
Pretty sure it's due to the carbon build up Yorkie, guys at Revolution said it was in need of a clean when they fitted the stage 2 manifold about 18 months ago

Re: New manifold
I had mine de-carboned by our local audi dealer. 2 months later got the dash light and it was diagnosed with a faulty actuator. 2x new manifolds please, luckily under warranty for me.

Re: New manifold
Arrived back from Newcastle yesterday after a trip to Revolution Motorstore, engine and manifold now carbon free and running a lot smoother. When Andy took the manifold off he said there was a fair bit of oil around the ports, this was due to the PCV valve having failed so this was also replaced.
Also got a CF induction kit fitted, sounds even more throaty now!
Great work by the guys at Revolution yet again, great service as per usual, Glen even gave us a lift to the hotel in the RS3 with electric Blistein suspension, very impressive
Just need to go into Audi now and ask why they said they'd had the manifold off and said the flaps were sticking, when it doesn't actually have any flaps anymore???

Re: New manifold
There's always a coating of oil inside the manifold. I think this is due to the design of the PCV - in certain conditions I believe it just sends the oily air straight into manifold. So not necessarily faulty.
