Another (almost full-fledged) newbie
Hello all,
Non-owner ......but I did order this week !
I Attended an Audi event day a few weeks back and after driving the RS 4 and RS6 , I knew my 62 plate S5 had to go for what I could afford ( and not what I wanted !! ) so placed an order for the RS4 this week.
Poor mans build with only a few options ;
B&O
V Spoke 20's
Black Nappa leather with grey piping
Aluminium kit
Would have got for black optics , but I'm not a fan of dark glass on anything other than black or daytona grey cars .......and think they just wouldn't have suited my Missano Red order .
The dealership already had one on order with a build week of 8.2014 , so they managed to change the spec to suit .....can't wait !
Looking forward to joining in......
Thanks

I think Black Optics is for the black trims around windows, the roof rails and the front grill. It's not for the window tint.
Personally I think Aluminum optics only works for white, silver and a handful of selective colors. The rest are too in your face. Check out the RS4 French forum(google it). They have a lot more pictures of the B8 RS4. I have seen the Black Optics on red there and they look very good. Black Optics quite sporty with most car colors and generally safe.

Yes understood ......bad grammar or typing on my part.
I'm aware what the optic pack is and my above note meant to say "black optic pack and dark glass" ......
I have the black optic pack and dark privacy glass on my current black s5 and I'm fairly happy with it .
However , and it's only personal opinion , I just don't like the black combos on lighter cars .
I also think the plethora of "black editions" Audi have introduced across the full range have made the combo a little common.
Each to their own though.....
Will definitely check out the website you suggested though ......thanks v.much

Misano Stevie. Haven't seen too many tbh.
Lower spec or not you'll still going like f_@& when you press the loud pedal.
F.O.N btw

Cheers Rivblu
I've always been restricted (other than a brief period in my youth with a S3) to diesels due to my mileage , but redundancy and a job shift has meant I can have petrol again.
Really looking forward to getting the car .......the initial move to S5 might not have been the right choice , but I guess a bridge between diesel and 4.2 v8
was needed to soften the blow at the petrol pump !
BTW .....I'm not sure if I am brave enough , but I love the colour you have chosen ! .......sometimes it's nice to see what other people have done , and be happy for them , without taking the plunge yourself !
Best wishes for the festive period

Couldn't find the French website either ......
But I did find this website ;
http://www.autogespot.nl/audi/rs4-avant-b8/spots
Hadn't seen it before ......page after page of b8's photographed in the wild .
Thought it was really good and gave me a true perspective of what the colour is going to look like on the road , rather than a glossy brochure or website.
